Jang Jae In snaps at production crew over appearance rumors
Singer Jang Jae In reacts to comments about his appearance while promoting his upcoming performance on the streets of Hongdae.
Singer Jang Jae In reacted sharply to an unexpected comment from the production crew. When asked a question that hinted at plastic surgery rumors, he snapped back, "Stop it." However, what truly flustered Jang that day was something else entirely. While distributing performance flyers on the streets of Hongdae to see how many people recognized him, a series of humorous humiliations and unexpected twists unfolded.

On the 23rd, Jang released a video on his YouTube channel titled "How many people will come if Jang Jae In hands out performance flyers in Hongdae?" Worried about whether the younger generation would recognize him since it had been a while since he appeared before the public, Jang personally created flyers containing past photos and performance information. He even headed out to the streets wearing a name tag around his waist.
His concerns were significant. "Even if they don't recognize me, I'm going to thrust the flyer in front of them and ask if they know John Park or Huh Gak," Jang said, expressing self-doubt regarding his own recognition. The fact that the performance date falls on a Monday was also a burden. Rather than showing confidence, he appeared cautious, saying, "I'm relying on John Park and Huh Gak. It's been quite a while since Jang Jae In has been active."
However, an unexpected scene unfolded. As soon as he handed out flyers, female fans who recognized Jang appeared, greeting him warmly by saying, "Your face is definitely Jang Jae In." At that moment, the production crew remarked, "We hear people saying your face has changed a lot," prompting Jang to immediately snap, "Stop it," drawing laughter. It was a reaction that seemed to acknowledge the recent online discussions regarding his changed appearance and plastic surgery rumors.
As his own songs began to play on the street, Jang gradually regained his confidence. Of course, reality was not easy. There were moments when he was repeatedly turned down for performance invitations, and there were citizens who did not recognize him. Nevertheless, as time passed, the number of people recognizing Jang increased, and he continued his promotion by actively informing even foreigners about the performance.
The result was heartwarming. More citizens gathered for the one-song performance Jang prepared than expected, and he sang "Please Don't Leave My Side" with passion. Citizens watching the performance reacted by saying, "It felt like listening to a gift," and "I felt lost in memories, like opening an old book."
Jang's anxiety regarding his hiatus was somewhat washed away through the public response he witnessed firsthand on the street. While he firmly drew a line against the mischievous questions about his appearance by saying, "Stop it," once the music started, people still remembered his songs. Ultimately, what Jang confirmed in Hongdae that day was closer to "how long people remember his songs" rather than "how much his face has changed."
