Jang Jae-in: "Recent income is 0 won—I'm even willing to work in a factory"

Singer Jang Jae-in has candidly revealed that he currently has virtually no income. His confession, which shows him facing economic realities while continuing his musical activities, reveals another side of a musician's life hidden behind the glamorous stage.

On the 7th, Jang spoke openly about his recent status, musical activities, and financial concerns in a video released on the YouTube Channel 'Annyeonghansaemyo'.

On this day, the production team met Jang at an industrial complex in Bucheon. When asked, "You didn't work in a factory, did you?", Jang gave an unexpected answer.

"If you film me working in a factory, I am even willing to try it."

His words, which seemed to draw no special line between the profession of a singer and factory labor, reflected his current realistic concerns. The reason Jang visited Bucheon was not for factory work, but for soccer lessons.

After finishing his soccer lessons, Jang moved to his studio to continue his musical activities.

There, the long-standing In-Yun with band members he has known since before appearing on 'Superstar K2' was also confirmed. Although they are colleagues who have been making music together for a long time, they are not yet in a situation where they generate stable income through band activities.

When the production team asked if the members split the profits equally, Jang replied, "There is no profit yet."

He explained, "For a band, it takes about four years to see a profit."

Making music takes time, and that time does not necessarily lead to profit. Jang also explained, "Fortunately, everyone has something they are doing," but when one band member said they had "nothing" (to do), Jang confessed a moment later, "I don't have anything either."

The production team immediately asked about money matters.

While discussing his economic situation, Jang cited his house as his biggest regret.

"I bought a house in Seoul. I bought it with debt, but I hated having debt so much that I sold it, only for the price to double immediately after I sold it."

He continued to reveal his honest feelings, saying, "It jumped tremendously. My heart is breaking."

He also shared a bitter experience regarding the fluctuations in real estate prices. After disposing of his house in Seoul, he prepared a house in Gimpo, but this time, the house prices in Gimpo are falling.

Jang revealed that he also has a villa in Bangi-dong. However, regarding this house, he said, "I hold onto it with the mindset that it is not mine." He added that he purchased it at his mother's recommendation.

His story cannot be viewed simply as a celebrity's failure in wealth management. This is because it simultaneously shows the reality where, while it takes a long time for profit to be generated from musical activities, past choices return as unexpected economic consequences in the future.

In particular, the confession of "recent income 0 won" carries a complex meaning that goes beyond defining Jang's current state as mere economic hardship. It does not mean he has given up on music, but rather that he is finding a balance between the music he wants to do and the reality of maintaining his livelihood.

Therefore, his comment about potentially working in a factory is actually quite realistic. It is not a declaration to abandon his identity as a singer on stage, but rather an attitude close to being able to sustain his life through his own labor if necessary.

Jang, who left a strong impression on the public through 'Superstar K2' and has continued his music for a long time. Having once experienced public applause and music release profits, the sight of him now calmly speaking about the reality of "0 won income" and contemplating labor again shows that a musician's life cannot be explained by glamour alone.

Nevertheless, Jang is still making music with his colleagues in his studio. Continuing the music he chose, even if profit does not occur immediately. Perhaps Jang's present is showing the most honest time of survival that comes after success.
