Kwon Sung-jun vows luxury car protest for wife Choi Sooyoung's center position

Chef Kwon Sung-jun brought laughter to viewers by declaring he would take direct action to soothe the "center sorrows" of Girls' Generation's Choi Sooyoung. By mentioning a luxury foreign car worth hundreds of millions of won and declaring, "I will drive my own car," he showcased the devotion of a "true fan husband."

In the 82nd episode of the JTBC entertainment program "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014," which aired on the 2nd, Uhm Jeong-hwa and Choi Sooyoung appeared as guests.

During the broadcast, when Kim Sung-joo remarked, "These days, the tall members stand in the middle rather than at the edges," Choi agreed, noting, "That's right. Times have changed," referring to the shift in idol formation culture.

As a tall member during Girls' Generation's active years, Choi experienced being positioned on the sides rather than the center, despite her excellent proportions and performance skills. Regarding this, she explained the evolution of the industry, saying, "Now is an era where tall members stand at the center."

Hearing this, chef Choi Hyun Seok reacted more strongly than anyone else.

He argued for Choi's center position, saying, "Tall people should hold the center. As soon as I saw Girls' Generation, it was so frustrating. Why put her there? She should be in the front."

Choi Hyun Seok then drew laughter by throwing a blunt question at Choi's husband, Kwon: "What did you do? Why didn't you protest?"

In response, Choi joked, "It seems like my activities were minimal. People do truck protests these days; you should have sent one saying, 'Make Choi Sooyoung the center.'"

When Choi Hyun Seok remarked, "If Sooyoung had been the center, the entire history of K-pop would have been even more shaken," Choi showed off her witty repartee by replying, "I've already been to Coachella."

With Girls' Generation's 20th anniversary approaching next year, Choi asked Kwon for a "center protest" filled with fan spirit, saying, "I'll be asking you for a favor then." Kwon readily replied, "I'll drive my own car even as early as tomorrow," causing bursts of laughter.

Kwon's remark garnered even more attention because he has long identified as a die-hard fan of Girls' Generation.

When Im Yoon-ah appeared on "Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014" last year, he revealed his history of being active in the fan cafe 'Hwasueunhwa,' stating, "I have been a fan of Girls' Generation since I was a first-year middle school student in 2007." He also revealed a special connection to Choi by disclosing that his nickname at the time was "Sooyoung's Husband."

Recently, he also drew attention through an appearance on the YouTube channel "Chimchak Man," where he revealed a building in Sindang-dong, Seoul, purchased for approximately 3.5 billion won, and a Maserati worth hundreds of millions of won.
