Young Turks Club's Lim Seong-eun Settles in Philippines Massage Shop After Malicious Money Rumors
Former Young Turks Club member Lim Seong-eun reveals her life in Boracay and the truth behind the rumors that led to her departure from the group.
It has been revealed that Lim Seong-eun, a member of the dance group Young Turks Club who enjoyed popularity in the 1990s, has been living in Boracay, Philippines, for 17 years.

A video titled 'Singer from Young Turks Club who changed professions to a Philippine massage shop?' was recently uploaded to the YouTube channel 'Scoop World - The Man from Back Then.' Lim Seong-eun appeared showing how well she has adapted to local life, such as skillfully decorating a 2,000-pyeong massage shop with flowers. She reminisced about her group activities, saying, "I used to have 18 to 19 schedules a day."
She revealed, "There wasn't even time to wash, so I would wash in public restrooms and take short naps in a van. Our songs played everywhere all year round. After my solo final album activities ended, I thought, 'Should I rest for about 6 months before going?' and that is how I ended up here."
She stated, "Since I was scouted, I received my earnings settlement properly. But I heard the other members didn't receive their settlements. The members asked me to speak to the manager, so I went and spoke up. Then, they got angry." Following this, Lim Seong-eun suffered from malicious rumors that she was greedy for money, which eventually led to her leaving the group.
Explaining the background of why she stayed in Boracay, she said, "It felt like the sky was falling. I endured it for 7 months, but I couldn't even breathe and it was difficult. Eventually, I came out as a solo singer. My popularity gradually declined. I needed a rest, so my life in Boracay began." She met her ex-husband, who was a diving instructor, and married him after dating for 1 year and 6 months, but they eventually divorced.
Regarding her ex-husband, she said, "I wondered if a ghost was attached to him because he couldn't spend money. He would spend 15 million won every 2 weeks, and I tried everything I could—trying to coax him, pleading, and crying. But he didn't change and didn't even try to change. The best choice I ever made was the divorce. If I hadn't divorced and had lived suppressing myself, I probably would have died of cancer. So, I made up my mind to divorce quietly, gave him a lot of money, and received the divorce papers."
Young Turks Club debuted in 1996, produced by Lee Juno, a former member of Seo Taiji and Boys. They produced hits such as 'Jeong,' 'Ugly Complex,' 'Jealousy,' 'Stranger,' 'Lie,' and 'Sad Lover.'
