Model and entertainer Byun Jung-soo is drawing attention after revealing how she used generative artificial intelligence (AI) to find success in stock investing. Her experience highlights a new era where AI serves as more than just a daily utility, becoming a tool for market research and decision-making.

On the 15th, Byun appeared on the YouTube channel 'Bolppalgan Nyonyonyonnyon,' where she shared travel stories from a trip to Bangkok, Thailand, with actress Bae Jong Ok and singer-turned-entertainer Yoon Hyeon Suk.

The three met up to enjoy various attractions in Bangkok. While searching for shopping information during their travels, the conversation naturally turned to the use of AI, leading Byun to disclose her unexpected investment journey.

While checking a shopping list, Yoon told Byun, "If you ask ChatGPT, it actually tells you quite well. It's truly amazing." Byun surprised the group by responding, "I actually started investing in stocks because of it."

Byun explained, "As the saying goes, 'a novice can cause trouble,' so I started buying just one or two shares at a time last September. I didn't have high expectations initially, but they ended up rising significantly."

She continued, "Now, I have withdrawn my principal and am operating only with the interest," a statement that captured the intense interest of the other cast members.

When Bae asked, "So how much did it go up?" Byun mentioned one of her holdings to provide specific details.

She explained, "As of the time of filming, SK Hynix has risen a lot. It has increased considerably since I bought it," prompting Bae to express surprise, asking, "Didn't it rise almost twofold?"

However, Byun's case is noteworthy not because AI guarantees returns, but because it illustrates how individuals are using new digital tools to study markets. When Bae struggled to find an outfit she liked, Byun stepped in to suggest styling options. Ultimately, Bae chose a coat with a unique color and expressed her satisfaction.

Byun joked, "You have to buy me dinner, unnie. Do you know how much we just saved you?" drawing laughter from the group.
