Shin Gi-ru clarifies SK Hynix stock holdings: 'I'm not an overnight millionaire'

Comedian Shin Gi-ru has personally clarified that rumors claiming she became an "overnight millionaire" through SK Hynix stock investments are untrue.

In a video titled 'Princess Lulu and Her Servants' released on Lee Yong-jin's YouTube channel on the 18th, Shin spoke candidly about her recent trending stock investment stories.

When Lee asked about her current investment status, Shin laughed, saying, "The news articles have been getting too big lately." She corrected the exaggerated rumors, stating, "People think I bought hundreds of millions of won worth, but that is not the case at all."

Explaining her motivation for investing, Shin said, "I bought one share of SK Hynix when it was in the 1.4 million won range. I just installed the app and bought it as practice because I was curious about how stock trading works."

She continued, "Seeing the stock price continue to rise, I bought about 10 more shares when it was slightly over 2 million won. My current total holdings are 13 shares, with an average purchase price in the 1.9 million won range."

She added with a laugh, "Even with that amount, I was flustered because it was being spread as if I had become an overnight millionaire."

Previously, Shin drew attention during her appearance on the web variety show 'Shin-Yeoseong' in June, where she said, "I bought SK Hynix at 1.46 million won, and the next day it had risen to 1.62 million won. I was surprised, thinking, 'So this is how you make money.'"

As those comments spread widely online, it was widely assumed that Shin had made significant profits through large-scale investments. However, through this broadcast, she drew a line against the excessively inflated interpretations by revealing her actual holdings.

Shin continues to be active in various broadcasts and YouTube content with her signature wit and cheerful variety sense.
