Han Hye-jin Skips 16M-Viewer Hit Film: 'As Han Myeong-hoe's Descendant, I Can't'

Model and broadcaster Han Hye-jin revealed why she has not seen the film "The Man Who Lives with the King," which has surpassed 16 million viewers.

On the 14th, a video titled "I've Prepared a Meal Friend and a Dishwashing Friend" was posted on Han Hye-jin's channel.

Broadcaster Poongja and comedian Eom Ji-yun visited Han Hye-jin's home. The three chatted over a meal, with recent movies as their topic of conversation. Eom Ji-yun said she had enjoyed "Salmokji," while Han Hye-jin confessed, "I haven't even seen 'The Man Who Lives with the King.'"

Eom Ji-yun said, "As a descendant of Eom Heung-do, not having seen 'The Man Who Lives with the King' doesn't sit well with me. I cried from the very first scene." Han Hye-jin remained unyielding, saying, "As a descendant of Han Myeong-hoe, I just couldn't bring myself to watch it."

Eom Ji-yun belongs to the Yeongwol Eom clan and Han Hye-jin to the Cheongju Han clan, sharing surnames with Eom Heung-do and Han Myeong-hoe respectively. Han Hye-jin's remarks left the studio in silence, and Poongja pointed out, "Unnie, you're saying that because you haven't actually seen the movie." Han Hye-jin stood her ground: "It's history — I know it even without watching. I'll watch it when it comes out on VOD." A caption at the end of the video revealed that Han Hye-jin watched "The Man Who Lives with the King" as soon as filming wrapped up.

Han Hye-jin entered the entertainment industry through the 1999 SBS Korea Super Elite Model Contest. She went on to break into the international stage at the 2006 F/W New York Fashion Week. She later found success as an entertainer on MBC's "I Live Alone," winning fans over with her sharp wit and humor.
