Jeong Ga-eun Reveals Shame Over Shower Scene During Debut Days

Jeong Ga-eun has openly shared the emotional scars from her early, unknown days in the entertainment industry and the challenges she faced raising her daughter alone after divorce. Although once celebrated as a "rollercoaster goddess" and beloved by the public, her journey was far from glamorous. Recalling her time as a newcomer, she revealed the harsh realities she endured. Jeong Ga-eun recently disclosed a difficult experience from her early days on a commercial shoot. She recalled that after transitioning from modeling to the entertainment industry, she moved to Seoul in 2002 and filmed numerous ads, including for cola and soap. However, one particular soap commercial shoot left a lasting, painful memory. She was required to film a shower scene and had minimized exposure by shooting mostly from behind, but the environment was deeply problematic. She said, "There were male staff members constantly walking by, and there was no privacy screen or proper organization of the flow of people." She added, "I was so ashamed at that moment." She confessed that she broke down in tears during the shoot, thinking, "If I were famous and successful, I wouldn't have been treated like this." This incident highlights the vulnerability of new actors and models in the past, who were often denied basic respect due to their lack of name and influence. However, Jeong Ga-eun later found fame and popularity through the tvN variety show "Rollercoaster," where she enjoyed a peak period. She recalled, "I worked 360 out of 365 days," but now reflects that those times, though difficult, were also precious and irreplaceable. Her life took another turn with marriage, childbirth, and ultimately, divorce. Jeong Ga-eun offered advice based on her experience, saying, "Marriage should not be entered into when you want to get married, but when you feel that this person is someone you can marry." She admitted that she initially focused only on her partner's positive qualities due to a longing for marriage and loneliness. She decided to marry after having a child, but over time, she realized their differences in lifestyle and values. Maintaining a relationship with her ex-husband after the divorce was not easy. She said, "I couldn't take away the father figure from my child," and made efforts to ensure her daughter could meet her father. However, she later found that contact with her ex-husband had been cut off. She revealed, "About two years later, I found out that huge sums of money were being transferred, and when I checked, my account had 0 won." She added, "The last record was an overseas departure. After that, I couldn't contact him." She further disclosed, "I couldn't even talk about child support. Instead, I received requests to borrow money even after the divorce," which evoked deep sympathy. The most difficult moment for Jeong Ga-eun was when she had to explain her daughter's father's absence. She said, "The hardest moment was when my child asked, 'Why don't I live with my dad?' I didn't want to say it sadly, so I calmly told her, 'Mommy can't contact him either.'" Recalling the moment during a school event when the teacher said, "Fathers, please come forward," she confessed, "My heart truly shattered at that moment." However, Jeong Ga-eun did not remain trapped in her pain. She has continued her acting career, YouTube channel, and television appearances, building a new life. The actress, once swayed by others' judgments and gazes, now stands as a mother and a person taking responsibility for her own life.
