Jeong Ga Eun candid about aging body: 'Can't hide I'm nearly 50'
Actress Jeong Ga Eun shares her honest struggles with aging and her dedicated fitness routine on her YouTube channel, Roller Coaster Sister.
Actress and broadcaster Jeong Ga Eun has shared her daily routine of maintaining her physique through consistent exercise and diet management as she approaches her 50s. Despite maintaining a slim figure, she drew attention by candidly discussing the physical changes that come with aging.

In a vlog released on the YouTube channel 'Roller Coaster Sister' on the 22nd, Jeong introduced her daily routine on a rare day off. The video was titled 'Jeong Ga Eun's Day Off in 2026, Still Managing Herself Even on Rest Days.'
Even on a holiday, Jeong's day began at 7:00 AM. As soon as she got out of bed, she began stretching, saying, "In my 20s, I could get up all at once, but now it's hard to get up without grabbing onto something." Mentioning that she even keeps stretching equipment in her bathroom, she joked, "As I enter my 40s, I feel like I'll turn into a fossil if I don't loosen up my body."
After washing her face, she hung from a pull-up bar to stretch and took nutritional supplements with lukewarm water. For breakfast, she ate half an apple. Jeong revealed that she consistently manages her weight and diet, stating, "To maintain a slim figure, you have to eat little."
After changing into workout clothes, her physique appeared relatively lean. However, looking at her abdomen, Jeong said, "Even though I eat little every day, the elasticity is gradually decreasing, so my belly has become saggy." She continued, "In my 20s, I would hold my stomach in no matter what, but now if I try that, I get a cramp in my stomach and can't even do it."
This approach differs from self-management aimed solely at weight loss. As people age, changes in body composition—such as muscle mass, body fat distribution, and skin elasticity—can become more prominent than weight itself. Jeong, too, focused her workouts on maintaining muscle strength and physical stamina rather than just losing weight.
Jeong immediately headed to the gym to begin interval cardio. She exercised for 30 minutes by alternating between 3 minutes of walking and 2 minutes of running, then proceeded to weight training. She explained that while it is difficult to work out every day, she tries to visit the gym about twice a week.
Focusing on her lower body due to concerns about sagging buttocks, she handled significant weights. She then continued with back and abdominal exercises to train her entire body. Despite complaining that the intensity was so high she "really felt like she was going to die," she completed her final set.
After finishing her workout, she encouraged herself, saying, "But I did it. It feels like 20% of the belly fat I saw this morning has disappeared. I'll choose to believe that." After checking her abdomen again, she expressed satisfaction, saying, "I think I might have developed some abs."
Jeong's day off did not end with exercise. Upon returning home, she cleaned for about two hours and then rested in a massage chair. She then finished her holiday by helping her daughter, Seo-yoon, with her homework. Contrary to the title 'day off,' her schedule was filled with exercise, housework, and childcare.
Jeong married a businessman of the same age in 2016 but divorced two years later. Since then, she has been raising her daughter alone while continuing her career in broadcasting. She also faced significant difficulties following legal disputes involving her ex-husband after their divorce.
The vlog was not focused on flaunting a perfect body. Instead, it emphasized her attitude of consistently managing her health while acknowledging the reality that physical strength and elasticity change with age. Her approach highlights that for a broadcaster approaching 50, self-care is about sustainable lifestyle habits rather than just a glamorous appearance.
