Kim Sung-ryung reveals 3 billion won jewelry at Cannes Film Festival

Actress Kim Sung-ryung has revealed a special anecdote from the red carpet of the Cannes International Film Festival. While attending official events wearing ultra-expensive jewelry worth a total of 3 billion won, she drew laughter by revealing that she was closely protected by bodyguards rather than being pursued by male fans.

On the 15th, the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star' featured actress Kim Sung-ryung, TVXQ's U-KNOW, entertainer Heo Kyung Hwan, and creator Pungja as guests to share various stories.

Kim, a former Miss Korea Jin winner from 1988, captured viewers' attention by sharing her secrets to maintaining her youthful appearance and thorough self-management, as well as behind-the-scenes stories from her time at the Cannes Film Festival.

During the show, the MCs asked, "Is it true that you were rejected during your first attempt at picking up someone?" and Kim laughed, saying, "I think it might have worked in the past, but it doesn't work anymore."

She then shared an anecdote about visiting a university festival with actress Ha Ji-won.

"I went to the Kyung Hee University festival because of Ha Ji-won's YouTube filming," Kim said. She joked, "Since it was a festival atmosphere, I told her, 'There are male students over there, why don't you try talking to them?' but the students didn't recognize me. Ji-won should have introduced me more actively," making the studio erupt in laughter.

When asked who her targets were, she continued her witty banter by answering, "They were university freshmen and sophomores."

She also spoke candidly about her self-management.

Regarding a past viral video of her in a dress, Kim expressed embarrassment, saying, "The video title was something like 'Is she really in her 60s?'" but emphasized, "Consistent management is the most important thing."

She introduced her strict exercise routine, stating, "I work out about five days a week. I alternate between personal PT and aerobic exercise, and I also consistently do Pilates and yoga."

She added, "Many people say I was born with beauty, but I was only born with height. Everything else is the result of effort."

At this, MC Kim Gu Ra quipped, "Eyes, nose, and mouth aren't things you can achieve through effort, right?" causing Kim to burst into laughter.

She also revealed her health management secrets.

Kim honestly shared, "I sleep well and eat meals regularly. As soon as I wake up in the morning, I eat an apple and almonds, but I still get hungry, so when I come to the broadcasting station, I eat hotteok, walnut cakes, and yakgwa."

However, she explained that lifestyle habits are important, adding, "I try to finish my dinner as early as possible."

Regarding skincare, she said, "I tend to get laser treatments about once a year," and added, "I never miss beauty fairs. It's fun to check out new beauty trends in person, use products, and find what suits me."

She did not hide her weight changes either.

Kim revealed, "It's not as easy to maintain weight as it used to be. At one point, I gained about 6kg, and the first digit of my weight changed to 6. Currently, I have lost about 1kg and am maintaining 59kg."

When Pungja reacted playfully to this, the cast burst into laughter.

The most eye-catching part was her special experience at the Cannes International Film Festival.

In response to a question about rumors that men followed her around all day abroad, Kim laughed, saying, "How great would that have been?" before answering, "Actually, it was the bodyguards."

She explained, "I attended the Cannes Film Festival 12 years ago for the movie 'The Target,' and the jewelry I wore at the time was extremely expensive."

She surprised the cast by revealing, "The earrings were 1 billion won per side, totaling 2 billion won, and the bracelet was 1 billion won. Altogether, it was worth about 3 billion won."

Kim recounted the situation, saying, "Bodyguards followed me constantly for jewelry security. Instead of using the official vehicles provided to actors at the Cannes Film Festival, I had to move using the vehicle provided by the jewelry sponsor."

Kim has been actively participating in various broadcasts, films, and variety shows recently, receiving public love for her consistent self-management and unchanging youthful beauty.
