Kandahar's 20-Billion Won Masterpiece 'Gunche' Premieres Today

'Colony' is a major production with a pure production cost of 17 billion won and a total budget of 20 billion won including marketing expenses. The break-even point is set at 3 million viewers, excluding secondary revenue such as overseas sales.

It has shown a smooth start, with a 50% reservation rate and exceeding 250,000 tickets sold on its opening day. It is expected to easily achieve the number one spot at the box office on its first day of release.

'Colony' depicts survivors isolated inside a building sealed off due to an unidentified infection outbreak, facing infected individuals who evolve in unpredictable forms. Expectations are high as it is the new work of Director Yeon Sang-ho, who rose to stardom and opened a new horizon for K-zombie films with the 2016 hit 'Train to Busan,' receiving critical acclaim both domestically and abroad.

Like 'Train to Busan,' it was invited to the Midnight Screening section of this year's Cannes Film Festival for its world premiere.

The film boasts a star-studded cast including Jeon Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook, Shin Hyun-bin, Kim Shin-rok, and Go Soo.
