Broadcaster Lee Geum-hee revealed her recent status of receiving hospital treatment due to deteriorating health. Due to a combination of a sore throat and vocal cord swelling, she received a 'recommendation for silence' from her doctor. This is a critical situation for a broadcaster.

On the 13th, Lee Geum-hee shared her recent status of receiving IV treatment at a hospital, saying, 'I am sorry,' and explained, 'On top of a severe sore throat, my vocal cords are very swollen, so I received a doctor's recommendation not to use my voice for the time being. I am in a situation where I must remain silent.'
Concerns are being raised about the impact of this health issue, as she has previously experienced losing her voice due to vocal cord-related problems. Last year, she opened up about her experience of deteriorating throat health on Channel A's 'Best Friend Documentary: Table for Four.'
She revealed that she suffered from acute laryngitis due to extreme stress from caring for her mother, confessing, 'I couldn't speak for two weeks, so I couldn't even host radio programs. I was truly shocked when the hospital diagnosed me saying, "Your voice won't come out for two weeks."'
Since then, she has worked hard to manage her throat health through voice language clinics, but her throat condition has worsened again, leading to a situation where treatment and rest are necessary.
She joined KBS in 1989 as a 16th-term open recruitment announcer and hosted flagship programs such as 'TV is Carrying Love' and 'AM Plaza.' After leaving the company, she is currently active as a freelance broadcaster.
