Nam Bora's large family shifts as siblings marry and move out

As the children of actress Nam Bora's large family of 13 siblings continue to marry and move out, the dynamics of the massive household are gradually shifting. In particular, upon hearing that Nam Bora's third younger sibling recently married, Kim Jae Joong, the youngest of the nine siblings, expressed a sense of crisis, fearing the marriage trend might soon overtake his own side of the family.

In the episode of KBS 2TV's 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' aired on the 20th, a baby shower prepared by Nam Bora's brothers was revealed.

During the meal, Nam Bora shared updates on G.NA, her third sibling who recently married. She stated, "It's hard to see G.NA's face these days. It's probably because she married recently," explaining that she is intentionally giving her space to respect her newlywed life.

G.NA is known to have married in January this year. Upon hearing this, Boom remarked, "Once the marriage streak starts, it just rolls along," prompting Kim Jae Joong to say, "Our house is feeling a sense of crisis. Right now, our side has more [unmarried members], but we're going to be overtaken in the future," drawing laughter from the cast.

In fact, the independence of the siblings in Nam Bora's family has been steadily increasing. Among the 13 siblings, eight have already moved out, leaving six people, including the parents, currently living together.

The 8th sibling noted, "Since they are leaving one by one, more space is created, so it's actually better. It feels more like a home and is quiet now." Nam Bora's older brother added that the house is often empty during the day due to school or work schedules.

The unique lifestyle of such a large family was also revealed. Recalling their childhood, the 8th sibling said, "Our house was a place that didn't need a door lock. There was always at least one person at home." They recalled that when visiting friends, they even had to ask to be let in because they weren't used to using digital door locks.

Kim Jae Joong empathized, saying, "I totally understand that. Our house was like that too. We didn't have any locking devices at all." To this, Boom added, "Even if a thief came, they'd be shocked. They'd open the door and find over ten people inside," adding to the laughter.

The mother also shared her feelings regarding her children leaving one by one. She offered a calm reaction, saying, "The house is quiet, but there are plenty of people looking for me anyway." She continued, "Will I feel relieved once the rest of them leave too?" showing that while she feels the emptiness of the large family, she is naturally accepting her children's independence.

However, the 8th sibling confessed that it is difficult to move out due to the comforts of family life, such as home-cooked meals. In response, the eldest brother advised, "It wasn't there for 35 years, but it felt good to finally have my own room. Your mind will change once you get your own room too."

Nam Bora's family, which garnered attention for its overwhelming size of 13 siblings, is entering a new phase as they move through the natural life cycles of marriage and independence. As the siblings' marriages follow one after another, the composition and lifestyle of the large family continue to evolve.
