Park Ha-sun reveals military family roots: 'Grandfather was a Korea Military Academy graduate'

Actress Park Ha-sun will reveal her upbringing in a military family, noting that her grandfather was a graduate of the Korea Military Academy. Having held a deep interest in the military since childhood, Park is set to share her unique connection to the service, including anecdotes from her time experiencing actual military life on a past variety show.

Park will appear as a special guest on the fifth episode of SBS Plus's 'Time Tracker Seollok,' airing on the 11th. Themed 'Female Warriors Breaking Taboos,' this episode highlights women who played pivotal roles in warfare and uncovers the stories of unsung heroes. Eastern European history expert Kim Cheol-min and war historian Nam Boram will join to present these historical accounts.

During the broadcast, Park will draw attention by sharing details of her family history, specifically revealing that her grandfather graduated from the Korea Military Academy.

"My grandfather is a graduate of the Military Academy. I wanted to be a soldier since I was young," Park said, reflecting on her childhood admiration for the profession. Having previously appeared on a military variety program to undergo rigorous training, she reportedly brought laughter to the studio by recalling those days and declaring, "The military is my calling."\

Park previously made headlines for challenging herself with military training—a difficult feat for a female celebrity—on a variety show. She revealed that her participation went beyond mere television experience, as she actively engaged in various drills, including marksmanship.

The episode will also feature stories regarding Park's exceptional shooting skills. Upon hearing about Milunka Savić, a legendary female warrior of the battlefield, Park expressed her admiration, exclaiming, "That is so cool."\

Reminiscing about her time in the military variety show, she displayed her confidence, stating, "(When I appeared on the show) I was so good at shooting that I even thought about becoming a professional athlete."\

Milunka Savić was a member of the Serbian army during World War I who demonstrated extraordinary combat abilities. She is known for overcoming the social limitations placed on women at the time to join the battlefield and achieve multiple feats. Through Savić's story, Park is expected to explore the lives of female warriors who defied the prejudices and constraints of their era.

In addition to the history of women in combat, the broadcast will cover the history of espionage.

The story of 'Codename Cynthia,' a key figure in World War II espionage, will be introduced. Regarding Cynthia's ability to complete missions through unique methods rather than brute force, Jang Hang Jun described her as a "natural-born spy."\

Jang added his characteristic wit when discussing real-life espionage, noting, "When others do it, my heart races, but I could never do it."\

The program will also reveal stories of hidden heroes who influenced the course of war despite being largely unrecorded in history books. Sun Kim is scheduled to present these figures as the 'Hidden Hero TOP3.'
