Comedian Park Seul-gi Reveals Closing Husband's Ice Cream Shop Due to High Severance Pay Costs

Comedian Park Seul-gi shared an update on her recent life, revealing that she has closed the ice cream business previously operated by her husband, shedding light on the harsh realities of self-employment.

During her appearance on KBS Cool FM's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show' aired on the 1st, Park Seul-gi revealed the news of her husband's business closure while conversing with listeners.

On this day, Park Seul-gi stated, "My husband recently closed the ice cream shop," adding, "The premium (key money) was settled almost at a break-even point."

In response, DJ Park Myung-soo evaluated the situation, saying, "In self-employment, it's not easy unless you hand it over while receiving a proper premium. Given the circumstances, you did well."

Park Seul-gi expressed her realistic feelings, saying, "At least we didn't end up in the negative."

She further explained, "A lot of severance pay went out to the employees who worked at our shop for a long time," revealing that she considered not just the transfer of the store, but also her responsibility toward the employees who had been with them.

While the premium was settled at a break-even level, the actual profit was not significant due to the severance pay paid to the employees who worked together during the operating period. However, she placed importance on the fact that the business was concluded without a large deficit.

Since starting the ice cream business in 2018, Park Seul-gi has shared realistic stories about managing the store on several occasions. In a past radio broadcast, she had revealed, "It's not a business that leaves much profit. If we sell 1,000 won worth of product, about 500 won remains. We earn just a little more than an office worker receiving a salary."

During this broadcast, she also built rapport with a listener's story regarding parking. Park Seul-gi remarked, "Having good parking is a great blessing. If you park poorly, you might have to wait for an hour or two," while Park Myung-soo drew laughter by sharing his own experience, saying, "Many accidents happen while parking. I've even scraped a wall before."

Previously, Park Seul-gi revealed her married life with husband Gong Moon-seong and the business process through TV CHOSUN's 'Taste of Wife' aired in 2020. At that time, she mentioned regarding the business funds, "We shared the costs. My husband took out a bit more debt, and I added my own money."

Meanwhile, Park Seul-gi married a non-celebrity who is one year older in 2016 and has one daughter.
