Broadcaster Park Soo Hong and his wife, Kim Da Ye, have temporarily suspended their regularly scheduled YouTube content following a controversy involving a delayed Korean Air flight to Guam. The channel's main screen even listed the regular upload schedule alongside the name of the responsible PD, Kim Da Ye. However, no video was released on August 31. This shift follows a noticeable decrease in Park's social media activity after he issued an apology regarding the flight departure delay.

The incident occurred on the 23rd of last month when Park's family boarded Korean Air flight KE415 to Guam at Incheon International Airport with their 22-month-old daughter, J. As the young child continued to cry on board, the family expressed their intention to disembark to avoid causing discomfort to other passengers.

The issue arose when the situation changed. When the family requested a 'voluntary disembarkation,' the airline proceeded with protocols such as removing the family's luggage from the aircraft. However, while waiting, the child's crying subsided, and the family expressed their intention to board again. In the process of reloading the luggage and completing the necessary procedures, the flight's departure was reportedly delayed by approximately one hour.

'Voluntary disembarkation' is a procedure where a passenger requests to leave the aircraft due to personal circumstances. It differs from simply standing up and leaving the cabin; because it involves procedures directly linked to flight operations—such as the movement of passengers and luggage and security checks—reversing a request to disembark requires the airline to take additional verification and corrective measures.

In Park's case, he decided to disembark with the intention of not disturbing other passengers due to the child's crying, but ultimately, reversing that choice led to a situation where more time was required for the aircraft's operation. As the controversy spread, Park apologized directly via SNS on the 26th. He stated, "Recently, a delay in departure occurred due to our family during the flight departure process. Regarding the situation, he explained, "The child was crying so much that we couldn't even sit down immediately after boarding, and in our panic, we made an immature decision." He noted that he feared the child's continuous crying during a long flight could cause even greater harm to other passengers, leading to the initial intent to disembark before deciding to board again once the child calmed down.

Park expressed that he was not fully aware that aviation-related procedures, such as security checks, would need to be repeated, describing his judgment as "my ignorance regarding aviation-related procedures." He repeatedly apologized to the passengers and airline staff, adding, "There is no room for any excuses."

The family arrived in Guam on the 23rd and even uploaded scheduled content to their YouTube channel on the 24th. However, after reports surfaced and Park issued a public apology, their SNS activity effectively stopped, and regular YouTube uploads were suspended.

Korean Air has reportedly stated that since the passengers did not actually exit the aircraft fuselage, it is difficult to view the act of withdrawing the intent to disembark as a major problem in itself.
