Shim Hyung-tak's fake injury triggers tears from son Haru Lee
Actor Shim Hyung-tak's 'temperament test' to check his son Haru Lee's empathy leads to a touching moment on The Return of Superman.
Actor Shim Hyung-tak's "temperament test," designed to check the empathy levels of his 17-month-old son Haru Lee, delivered an unexpected wave of emotion. Seeing his father pretend to get hurt, Haru burst into tears, evoking a deep sense of paternal love.

In the episode of the KBS 2TV variety program "The Return of Superman" aired on the 15th, Shim was shown spending time with Haru and conducting a special test to understand the child's personality.
Shim explained, "I was curious whether Haru is a T or an F. The temperament test I prepared for the first time today was to see how Haru would react when his dad cries."
With MBTI becoming a hot topic recently, his intention was to examine his son's empathy using the terms "T (Thinking)" for logic-centered types and "F (Feeling)" for emotion-centered types.
Shim began acting as if he were suddenly shedding tears in front of Haru. Faced with the unexpected situation, Haru stared at his father for a moment before slowly approaching to hold Shim's finger, offering comfort.
Witnessing this, Shim expressed his overwhelmed emotions, saying, "Is he holding my hand? Even though he is at an age where it is still difficult to fully understand emotions, seeing him react like this was truly touching. He kept touching my finger. I was so grateful for that."
Shim did not stop there and prepared a second test. He pretended to move while carrying a large box and then intentionally acted as if he were falling.
As soon as Haru saw his father collapse onto the floor, he immediately burst into tears. Startled, Shim immediately stood up, saying, "Dad is okay. I'm not hurt," as he pulled Haru into his arms to reassure him.
Held in his father's arms, Haru quickly stopped crying, and Shim repeatedly expressed his apologies. He comforted his son, saying, "I'm sorry. Dad won't get hurt."
In a subsequent interview, Shim shared his sincere feelings, stating, "To be honest, my heart felt heavy seeing him cry along with me after seeing me get hurt. I was truly grateful because it felt like Haru now clearly recognizes me as his father, and because he thinks I am hurting, he grieved with me as if it were his own matter."
Shim is married to his Japanese wife SAya, and they have a son, Haru Lee. The two are receiving love from viewers by revealing their daily parenting life through "The Return of Superman."
