39-Year-Old 'Kangaroo Tribe' Actress Oh Yeon-seo Says Marriage Is Hard: 'There Is No One Around Me to Set Me Up'
On SBS's No, But Seriously, actress Oh Yeon-seo said living with her parents feels comfortable and explained why marriage has not happened for her.
Actress Oh Yeon-seo, 39, spoke candidly about being part of the so-called "kangaroo tribe," a term used here in connection with her current life at home with her parents, and said she has not married because she has no one around her who can introduce her to a potential partner.

On the June 22 episode of the SBS entertainment program "No, But Seriously," actors Oh Yeon-seo and Kim Gyu-won visited "Suzy's Boarding House." During the appearance, Oh shared an update on her living situation and explained that she is still residing with her parents.
"Because we have continued living together, it feels comfortable to live together," Oh said. "I did try living independently, but in the end, I liked living together more." When entertainer Tak Jae-hoon asked whether it was about time for her parents to tell her to get married, Oh replied, "I think they have given up now."
Asked why her parents had given up, Oh answered, "To be honest, it is not that I am choosing not to do it. It is that I cannot do it." Lee Sang-min responded less with encouragement than with a joke, saying, "You can still do it now." Tak Jae-hoon also offered a deliberately empty-sounding cheer, joking, "You can have the wedding at 12 and register the marriage at 1."
Oh then explained why marriage has not been easy for her. "I like being at home too much," she said. Kim Gyu-won asked, "Wouldn't it work if you met someone who is also a homebody?" Oh replied that, unexpectedly, her network is not very wide: "There is nowhere around me to receive introductions, and there are no people either."
Oh Yeon-seo debuted in 2002 as a member of the girl group LUV before changing paths to become an actress. Her acting credits include the KBS 2TV drama "My Husband Got a Family," the MBC drama "Here Comes Mr. Oh," the MBC drama "Jang Bo-ri Is Here!," and the SBS drama "Please Come Back, Mister."
