Ahn Jae Hyun aims for Waterbomb Festival with 77kg bulk-up: 'I look like boiled chicken'

Actor Ahn Jae Hyun displayed his witty charm while candidly expressing his desire to perform at the representative summer festival, Waterbomb Festival. Despite gaining nearly 17kg for a drama, he admitted he is not satisfied with his physique, drawing laughter with a self-deprecating joke that he "looks like boiled chicken."

On the 28th, a video titled 'How two crazies stay together for 25 years? Yoo Se Yoon X Muzie UV' was released on the YouTube channel 'Alttalttalhan Chamgyeon.'

During the appearance, Ahn revealed a small wish he had been harboring.

"I also want to be a member of Waterbomb Festival just once," he said. "When I see the people performing on stage, don't they all have great bodies? I want to step onto a stage like that too."

Upon hearing this, entertainer Heo Kyung Hwan highly praised Ahn's physique.

Heo complimented his natural physical condition, saying, "Someone with Jae Hyun's style sees their body improve quickly with just a little exercise. His frame itself is large.""

Muzie also chimed in, adding, "He is actually the type of style that would look cooler if he toned up rather than just bulking up too much."

However, Ahn shared his realistic concerns.

"I started exercising again recently, but my stamina isn't what it used to be," he said with a laugh. "I could only lift the pink dumbbells for shoulder exercises.""

He then honestly revealed a concern regarding his skin tone.

Ahn made the set erupt in laughter by self-deprecating, "Since my skin is quite pale, if I take my shirt off, I don't look cool; I just look like a white boiled chicken.""

He also recalled his past experience of focusing intensely on working out.

"I worked out hard for over six months to film the surfing scene in I Live Alone," he said, expressing regret. "I thought I looked somewhat cool, but when I actually watched the broadcast, it felt a bit ambiguous.""

Ahn previously revealed the story behind his bulk-up on KBS2 Problem Child in House.

At that time, he stated, "My weight was around 60kg when I was active," and explained, "Once it was decided that I would appear in a drama with a bed scene, I thought I needed to build a muscular body.""

To achieve this, he combined consistent exercise with diet management, and reported that his current weight has increased to approximately 77kg.

Despite successfully gaining nearly 17kg, he drew laughter by offering a harsh self-evaluation, saying, "I feel like I'm still lacking to stand on the Waterbomb Festival stage."
