Expectant mother Kim Min-kyung faces health scares

Actress Kim Min-kyung is drawing concern from fans as she experiences unexpected health issues while awaiting the arrival of her long-awaited child.

Preparing for childbirth, Kim recently shared updates via SNS, revealing a hospital visit prompted by sudden physical changes. “The day before yesterday, my throat suddenly hurt and it was difficult to swallow,” she said, describing her condition. “Yesterday, mucus came out of my left nostril, and today my nose is stuffed and it feels like my eyeballs are going to pop out.”

While she attempted to comfort herself, saying, “I’ve made it this far without even catching a cold, so let’s just hope I don't get a fever,” she also admitted, “It’s a bit scary,” expressing anxiety regarding health management in the final stages of her pregnancy.

In the shared photos, Kim is seen wearing a mask and a hat, carefully placing her hand on her swollen belly. The images capture both the excitement of welcoming a new life and the realistic difficulties experienced during the long journey of pregnancy.

Kim previously disclosed a diagnosis of gestational diabetes. “Last week was a continuous series of hardships,” she stated, adding, “After being diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I even went to the emergency room due to abdominal pain of unknown cause.”

Sharing a photo of a blood glucose meter, she expressed her frustration: “The gestational diabetes I didn't worry about has become a reality. I thought I had lived healthily and exercised hard, so I feel upset.” However, she regained her composure with a positive outlook, saying, “I must live even more healthily during the remaining pregnancy period.”

Kim's recent confession is drawing attention as an example of the realistic concerns and physical changes faced by women pursuing pregnancy at an older age. While pregnancy is a blessing, it is a process of dramatic bodily change, and pregnancy after age 40, in particular, requires meticulous management and caution.
