Min Ji-young discovers thyroid cancer recurrence 5 years after surgery
Actress Min Ji-young reveals cancer cells were found in her remaining thyroid gland while traveling the world in a camper van.
Actress Min Ji-young revealed that cancer cells were discovered in the opposite side of her thyroid gland, five years after undergoing surgery for thyroid cancer. Despite expecting a full recovery, she received a new diagnosis, but shared that she is continuing her world travels while undergoing regular follow-up observations.

On the 2nd, a video titled 'The Fate of a Former Show Host Husband Who Boldly Tore Apart the Camper Van Boiler' was released on the YouTube channel 'Min Jiyoung TV'.
In the video, Min began by saying, "It has already been five years since I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had my right thyroid gland removed," before calmly revealing, "However, I was also diagnosed with cancer in my left thyroid, so I ultimately did not receive a clean bill of health."
Fortunately, she shared positive news regarding her current condition.
Min stated, "I was told that if I just do well with regular follow-up observations, I can continue our camper van world travels," adding, "With a grateful heart, our family of three has returned to Madrid, Spain."
However, the trip has been a series of unexpected misfortunes.
She confessed that while packing, she suffered a major toe injury, forcing her to remain in the camper van for about three months, which caused both the trip and YouTube filming to come to a complete halt.
To make matters worse, the camper van has also suffered consecutive breakdowns.
Min explained, "I discovered that antifreeze was leaking from the diesel heater used for heating," and added, "The repair, which I thought would be simple, led to a relay of failures, moving beyond a broken hose to the diesel heater unit itself bursting."
She continued to share her difficult recent circumstances, adding, "A vicious cycle continued where fixing one thing would cause another part to break."
Min married show host Kim Hyung-gyun in 2017 and previously revealed her thyroid cancer diagnosis and surgery in 2021.
Currently, she is traveling the world in a camper van with her husband, documenting their daily lives. Many are offering support as she maintains a positive attitude despite unexpected health issues and a series of sudden incidents during her travels.
