Min Ji-young faces medical bill surge during Spain trip amid thyroid cancer battle
Actress Min Ji-young shares details of a toe injury in Spain and unexpected medical costs while managing her ongoing thyroid cancer treatment.
Actress Min Ji-young has revealed that she had to visit an emergency room in Spain due to an unexpected injury. Following her previous disclosures regarding two miscarriages and her battle with thyroid cancer, news of her recent struggles with medical expenses abroad has drawn significant support from fans.

On the 26th, Min released a video titled 'The Reason I Had No Choice But to Stop Filming for My Personal Channel for 3 Months' through her YouTube channel, Min Jiyoung TV MJYTV.
In the video, she revealed that she suffered a major toe injury while traveling through Spain in a camper van with her husband.
Recalling the moment, Min said, "I hit my right fourth toe hard against the wooden frame of the camper van door. It hurt so much that I collapsed on the floor and cried for a long time. At that moment, the pain was so intense that I thought, 'My toe must be broken.'"
However, she was unable to visit a hospital immediately.
She explained, "Since this is Spain and not Korea, I couldn't receive medical benefits, so I endured it thinking it was just a simple bruise. But even after three weeks, my toe continued to swell and the pain became severe, so I eventually had no choice but to seek medical attention."
Fortunately, the examination results showed no fracture.
While the X-ray showed no issues with the bone, there was severe inflammation between the joints, and medical staff diagnosed her as needing sufficient rest for the time being.
Min also spoke candidly about the burden of medical expenses abroad.
"As a tourist, I wasn't covered by medical insurance, so the emergency room was my only option," she said. "Just from registering, getting an X-ray, and receiving the reading, the hospital bill exceeded 600,000 won."
She added, "I felt apologetic and discouraged in front of my husband, but fortunately, since I had purchased travel insurance in Korea before leaving, I was able to claim it from the insurance company and receive about 400,000 won in compensation."
Min has also recently shared the status of her thyroid cancer treatment.
In a previously released video, she stated, "My dream was to be declared fully recovered five years after surgery, but currently, cancer cells have been discovered in my left thyroid, so I am monitoring the progress."
She calmly shared her feelings, saying, "There are times when I feel like I am living with a time bomb inside my body, but I try to live each day with a grateful heart. I am continuing my travels with that same mindset."
Min has received much support by honestly disclosing her experience of two miscarriages and her battle with thyroid cancer.
Min first became known through the KBS2 drama Love and War and married show host Kim Hyung-kyun in 2017. Currently, she is continuing a world tour in a camper van with her husband, sharing her travel daily life and recent updates with fans through YouTube.
