Song Il-gook reveals life with middle school triplets
Actor Song Il-gook shares the challenges of raising three middle schoolers and reveals the touching story behind the triplets' names.
Actor Song Il-gook reveals the current status of his triplets, who are now in their second year of middle school, and confesses the struggles of being a father of three.

Song Il-gook, who is currently appearing in the musical 'The Hague' until the 21st of next month, will appear on MBN's 'Kim Ju-ha's Day & Night' on the 23rd.
He will share his concerns as a father, noting that his triplet sons—Daehan, Minguk, and Manse—are now in their second year of middle school and are going through the turbulent storm of puberty.
He showed a very cautious attitude, saying, "It's not one or two, but three of them are in their second year of middle school, so the atmosphere at home is like walking on thin ice. They don't like it when people talk about them on broadcast."
However, he soon confessed that he desperately pleaded with the triplets, saying, "Kids, Daddy needs to make a living too. If you don't talk about yourselves, they won't invite me on."
He also revealed a recent photo taken with the permission of his three sons.
The triplets are widely known to have inherited the tall DNA of their parents. Daehan is 186cm, Minguk is 183cm, and Manse is 180cm, which is very tall for middle schoolers. As Daehan has already surpassed Song Il-gook's height of 185cm, attention is drawn to how much more the three sons will grow.
While talking with Moon Se-yoon, who also has a child going through puberty, Song Il-gook strongly empathized with the complaint that children refuse physical affection from their parents, saying, "The kids I used to know are gone, and kids I don't know have arrived."
He expressed his sadness, saying, "I was someone who used to kiss my children 1,000 times a day," but tried to soothe his disappointment by adding, "[Name] still accepts them, but only when they are in a good mood."
He also confessed that the names of the triplets were actually an exclamation from their mother, Kim Eul-dong. When Kim Eul-dong heard from Song Il-gook that she was pregnant with triplets, she shouted, "It's Daehan, Minguk, Manse, hey!" which became their prenatal nickname and eventually their actual names. However, interest is focused on why his wife had opposed the names until the end.
He joined MBC in 1998 as a 27th recruitment talent and gained popularity through appearances in 'Conditions of Affection,' 'Sea of Shin,' 'Jumong,' and 'Jang Young-sil.' He married judge Jeong Seung-yeon in 2008 and had the triplets in 2012.
