Soo Ae on 4-Year Hiatus: "I Kept Waiting for Projects, but Scheduling Fell Through"

Actress Soo Ae has shared an update on her life through a recent photoshoot. Addressing her nearly four-year hiatus from acting, she candidly revealed, "I kept preparing for projects, but the scheduling never materialized."

In the August issue of Vogue Korea released on the 6th, Soo Ae demonstrated her signature elegant and restrained presence.

In the released photos, Soo Ae perfectly pulled off various styles ranging from oversized suits to dresses and leather jackets, showcasing both classicism and sophistication. Her calm gaze and delicate facial expressions projected a deep aura that made her long absence feel non-existent.

In particular, despite it being her first photoshoot in a long time, she once again proved her status as a "wannabe actress" by maintaining flawless visuals and a toned physique.

Soo Ae has not appeared in a production since the 2022 JTBC drama "Artificial City." Recently, as her agency released new profile photos taken last year, anticipation for her return has been growing among fans.

In an interview conducted alongside the photoshoot, Soo Ae spoke honestly about how she spent her time away from the spotlight.

"To those looking from the outside, I might have seemed like someone who had stopped, but my days were quite packed," she said. "There were many things to laugh about; I met people and learned new things while doing well."

She added, "In the past, my schedule filled my day, but now I had to fill that time myself. That process was unfamiliar, but it wasn't bad."

She also directly explained the reason for the long gap in her career.

Soo Ae revealed, "Even while resting, I was constantly waiting for scheduling. I had connections with projects, but the scheduling kept falling through."

She continued, "There is a project I am waiting for even now. In the end, I think it comes down to scheduling issues," conveying that she did not choose a hiatus to stop working, but has been preparing for her comeback.

Attention is now focused on whether Soo Ae, who has waited so long for a new role, will finally return to the small screen.
