Kim Joo Ha Reveals Wonbin's Absence from Screen: 'It's Not That He Won't Work, He's Not Being Cast'

Actor Park Geun-hyung, who is appearing in the play 'The Merchant of Venice,' will mention Wonbin on MBN's 'Kim Joo Ha's Day and Night' on the 27th.

Park Geun-hyung recounts the moment he first met rookie actor Wonbin, who appeared in the KBS2 drama 'Kkokji.' He recalls scolding Wonbin, who had long hair and imprecise pronunciation while reading his script, saying, "What are you doing right now? Read it again. And cut your hair!"

Later, when they met on a filming set, Wonbin had neatly cut his hair and improved his pronunciation. Park says he praised him, asking, "You can do it, so why didn't you do it before?" As Wonbin's popularity skyrocketed, Park revealed his sense of pride, thinking to himself, "I'm glad I gave him that advice."

Regarding Wonbin, who has had no news of follow-up works for 16 years since the movie 'The Man from Nowhere,' Park expressed his disappointment, saying, "Even though I keep telling various people that 'actors like you need to come out and do it,' Wonbin hasn't acted for a long time."

He also revealed a special connection with actress Kim Nam-joo, noting that after being lectured by him, her acting skills ignited like a flame. He praised Kim Nam-joo's efforts to hone her craft, saying, "Kim Nam-joo went on to achieve great success with 'That Woman's House.'"

Kim Joo Ha surprised everyone by confessing that she has a personal connection with Wonbin. Kim Joo Ha revealed, "When I asked Wonbin why he hasn't been acting since 'The Man from Nowhere,' he said that because his image from 'The Man from Nowhere' is so strong, scripts aren't coming in."

She added that Wonbin is currently growing his hair out, stating, "He said he is preparing because he doesn't know what kind of role might come his way," conveying Wonbin's determination for his next project.
