Lee Seong-min apologizes to Shin Se-kyung over Baeksang Arts Awards controversy
Actor Lee Seong-min apologizes to Shin Se-kyung to resolve misunderstandings following his controversial remarks at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards.
Actor Lee Seong-min, who won the Best Supporting Actor (Film) award at the 62nd Baeksang Arts Awards held on the 8th, reportedly contacted Shin Se-kyung immediately to apologize and clear up the misunderstanding regarding his controversial acceptance speech.

On that day, after winning for the film 'I Can't Help It', Lee Seong-min said, "I can't tell you how nervous I was when Yeom Hye-ran was nominated for Best Supporting Actress (Film). I even cursed inwardly when Hye-ran didn't win," drawing criticism from many netizens. Although Yeom Hye-ran was also nominated for Best Supporting Actress, Shin Se-kyung from the film 'Humint' won the award, making his remarks feel inconsiderate and thoughtless for a senior actor.
At the scene, director Park Chan-wook of 'I Can't Help It' tried to diffuse the tension by saying, "Shin Se-kyung deserves the award," and Yeom Hye-ran added, "I am Yeom Hye-ran, who just lost," but the controversy continued to spread rapidly.
After the ceremony, posts criticizing Lee Seong-min spread online, and the situation became serious enough that some even questioned his character.
However, Lee Seong-min contacted Shin Se-kyung the very next day to apologize for the public sentiment turning negative despite his intentions, and it is reported that Shin Se-kyung showed him goodwill, not being particularly bothered. An executive from Lee Seong-min's agency also contacted Shin Se-kyung's agency to resolve the misunderstanding.
