Bae Da-hae: 'I gained so much weight people mistook me for pregnant' during IVF
Musical actress Bae Da-hae opens up about the physical changes and emotional toll of IVF treatment on her YouTube channel.
Singer and musical actress Bae Da-hae has candidly shared the physical changes and emotional hardships she experienced during the IVF (in vitro fertilization) process. She revealed that the weight changes resulting from her efforts led to unexpected misunderstandings, but she is now working to restore her daily routine for the sake of her health.

On the 26th, Bae shared her recent updates and the changes she experienced following IVF treatment in a video posted on her YouTube channel.
Having recently started living with her 100-year-old great-grandfather-in-law, Bae revealed that while her parents-in-law are staying with him, she has been enjoying some long-awaited time for herself, focusing on skincare and exercise.
However, her physical condition was not as easy as expected. "Of all things, I caught a cold," Bae said, adding, "I don't usually catch colds easily, but right after restarting the IVF after a one-year break, I caught a cold immediately."
She continued, "I even developed laryngitis and lost my voice, but it has returned now," explaining how her immunity had dropped during the IVF process.
In particular, Bae shared a humorous yet awkward misunderstanding caused by her weight change.
"I gained so much weight while doing IVF," she revealed. "People kept asking me if there was good news [regarding pregnancy]." She added, "I was too bothered to explain to everyone individually, so I didn't even go to the gym. But now, I am exercising regardless."
The hormonal changes and treatment processes involved in preparing for pregnancy can place a burden on both the body and mind. Bae candidly shared that her weight gain was not just a simple increase, but a change she had to endure while waiting for a new life.
Recently, she has been focusing on health management by restarting her workouts. Her efforts to prioritize her own physical condition and recovery over the gaze of others are receiving support from fans.
Bae married Peppertones member Lee Jangwon in 2021. The couple has received much love by publicly showing their affection for each other since marriage, and Bae recently drew attention by sharing her daily life with her family, including the news of living with her 100-year-old great-grandfather-in-law.
