Mir of MBLAQ Deletes Video Following Controversy Over How He Addressed His Mother-in-Law 5 Months After Marriage
MBLAQ's Mir faces backlash and deletes a video after using an inappropriate term for his mother-in-law just five months into his marriage.
Mir, formerly of the boy group MBLAQ, has completely deleted a video after being criticized by netizens for referring to his wife's mother as 'Jangmo' (mother-in-law) instead of the more respectful 'Jangmo-nim'.

Mir has experienced various incidents since his wedding last year. When controversy arose because his non-celebrity wife's face was revealed through his wedding video, he personally clarified, "It was not a private wedding." He expressed his embarrassment, saying, "We weren't popular, so reporters didn't come, but I don't know why it became a private wedding issue." His older sister, actress Go Eun-ah, also stepped in to de-escalate the situation, stating, "We never said it was a private wedding."
Later, Mir's wife became a hot topic when she was revealed through the YouTube channel 'Banggane.' Known by the nickname 'Pink Frog' among family members, Mir's wife showcased her lively charm by performing songs and dances. It was also revealed that she is the director of the Pilates center that Go Eun-ah visited.
However, another video caused controversy. In a Shorts video released on the 24th, just 5 months after his marriage, Mir repeatedly mentioned his mother-in-law by saying, "Our Jangmo prepared herbal medicine because I was having a hard time," and "Our Jangmo earns a lot of money."
He had previously displayed a sense of closeness by saying, "Our Jangmo was born in 1958. She also learns line dancing and plays the Janggu (traditional drum)." However, some pointed out that referring to her as 'Jangmo' instead of 'Jangmo-nim' was inappropriate.
Ultimately, Mir deleted the video.
