On the 3rd, Truedy shared her feelings through her SNS, stating, "When I first heard the word depression, I felt great fear," and adding, "It was a huge source of strength that so many people sent their empathy and support." She continued to pour out the emotional difficulties she has faced since childbirth, saying, "My husband Rhee Dae-eun is doing his best to help me by my side, but my psychological state has changed so much that it even surprises me."

She added, "Since it is the first time for both Mom and Dad, everything feels clumsy and lacking. Rather than fearing depression, I will overcome it well through treatment. Above all, I will recover my physical strength and steady my mind to be healthy." She also added a message of support, saying, "I sincerely cheer for all the parents in the world," conveying a sense of empathy and solidarity with those experiencing similar struggles.

Previously, on the YouTube channel 'Geumttongine' released on the 2nd, Truedy visited a mental health specialist for a consultation. She explained that since giving birth, she has experienced weight gain along with lethargy, loss of motivation, and social isolation. "I used to be the type of person who gained energy through interacting with people, but as I spent more time staying at home after childbirth, I began to release my emotions through eating, and I became so lethargic that I didn't even want to exercise," she confessed.

During the consultation, the specialist comprehensively evaluated major depression diagnostic criteria, including depressive mood, loss of motivation, lethargy, changes in sleep and appetite, and decreased concentration. As a result, it was confirmed that Truedy met 7 out of the 9 major diagnostic criteria.

The specialist explained, "Depression diagnostic criteria generally suggest clinical suspicion if five or more symptoms persist, and if seven or more apply, it is judged to be a relatively high-severity state. Currently, it is a clinical state that requires active treatment and continuous management."

Upon hearing the diagnosis, which was more serious than expected, Truedy eventually shed tears. She confessed, "I thought I had improved a lot after meeting friends recently, so receiving a diagnosis of depression was a shock."

In response, the specialist explained, "Depression and anxiety disorders are not due to a lack of individual willpower, but are diseases where malfunctions in brain neurotransmitters and biological factors act in combination. It is a disease that is fully recoverable if appropriate counseling, medication, and lifestyle improvements are combined."

Regarding the role of her husband Rhee Dae-eun, the specialist advised, "It is a very important factor for recovery that the spouse accurately understands the disease and participates in the treatment process. What is needed now is not trying to solve the problem logically, but providing emotional support and stability during the treatment process."

Truedy and former baseball player Rhee Dae-eun married in 2021 and gave birth to their first son last November. This confession, sharing the psychological difficulties experienced amidst physical changes and the sudden transition to a parenting environment after childbirth, is serving as an opportunity to once again highlight the need for social interest and increased awareness regarding postpartum mental health.
