WJSN's Dayoung shines at first Waterbomb Festival appearance

WJSN's Dayoung made a lasting impression by stepping onto the Waterbomb Festival stage for the first time since her debut, showcasing intense performance skills and stable live vocals.

Dayoung appeared at Waterbomb Seoul 2026, held on the 25th and 26th at the KINTEX Outdoor Global Stage in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do, drawing passionate responses from the audience with different stages over the two days. Despite the tension of her first Waterbomb stage, she was credited with heightening the festival atmosphere through her signature energy and stage presence.

On the first day, she made a surprise appearance during Jay Park's stage. Performing alongside Park during the hits 'MOMMAE' and 'Keep It Sexy (MOMMAE 2)', Dayoung instantly heated up the venue with her powerful performance and confident stage manners.

On the second day, she met the audience with a solo stage. Starting with the opening song 'What's a Girl to Do', she followed up with 'Priceless (Kaching Kaching)' to ramp up the mood, even coming down to the front of the stage to interact actively with the crowd.

During the subsequent 'body' stage, she delivered unwavering live vocals and an intense performance even amidst the pouring water. The combination of dynamic choreography, rich facial expressions, and highly polished synchronization with the dancers maximized the immersion of the crowd.

Notably, the stage featured the first public reveal of the unreleased new song 'Overtime', drawing intense interest from fans. The performance, which blended a sensual beat with Dayoung's unique vocal color, drew hot cheers, followed by 'Marry Me (REMIX ver.)' and a cover of Justin Bieber's 'Beauty and a Beat', showcasing her diverse charms.

At the end of the performance, she concluded her two-day run brilliantly by performing 'body' once more following encore requests from the audience.

Through her agency Starship Entertainment, Dayoung shared her thoughts, saying, "Since it was my first Waterbomb, I was very nervous, but I gained great strength thanks to the support of the fans and the audience. I was truly happy to joyfully complete all the stages, including the collaboration with senior Jay Park and the unreleased new song."

She added, "Carrying these good memories, I will continue to return to you with even better music and performances."

Having successfully completed her first Waterbomb stage, Dayoung is scheduled to meet the audience once again at Waterbomb Sokcho 2026 on August 22.
