Jensen Huang Says He Loves "Golden" and Calls Samgyeopsal and Korean Chicken "the Best"

NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang expressed a distinctive affection for K-pop during his appearance on tvN's You Quiz on the Block on the 10th, speaking not only about the music he enjoys but also about Korean food and culture.

Yoo Jae-suk opened the conversation by noting the level of public attention that had built even before Huang arrived in Korea. He said that the country had been buzzing ahead of the visit and asked about reports that Huang had eaten samgyeopsal with soju the previous day alongside LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, SK Group Chairman Choi Tae-won, and Chair Lee Hae-jin. Yoo then asked whether Huang had enjoyed the meal.

Huang answered that the previous night had been genuinely enjoyable. He said it was his first time trying samgyeopsal, the Korean grilled pork belly dish, and described the experience as surprising in the best way. He added that the taste had stayed with him so strongly that he could still remember it, making clear that he had been highly satisfied with the meal.

Because the recording took place in the morning, Yoo said he had been worried about Huang after seeing him drink somaek as well. Huang laughed off the concern and replied that he is good at drinking, saying his tolerance is considerable. He added that this may be thanks to his many years of visiting Korea, and said he has the impression that Korean people are very strong drinkers.

When asked who grilled the meat and who made the somaek during the gathering, Huang said everyone participated in grilling the meat. Among them, he said Koo Kwang-mo grilled the most. Huang added that everyone had a role at the table, while his own role was to eat. He joked that he was the oldest person there, and the report noted that he acknowledged the East Asian blood running in him.

Yoo then brought up Huang's reported habit of listening to K-pop in everyday life. Huang responded by asking who could possibly dislike "Golden," calling it a truly good song. He also said he likes Hwasa's "Good Goodbye" and enjoys her new song "So Cute," openly showing his affection for Hwasa's music.

Yoo reacted with surprise, asking whether Huang even knew Hwasa's latest release, and remarked that Hwasa would be pleased to hear it. Huang went on to praise her as both a strong dancer and a strong singer. Even so, he made his own preference clear, saying that his number one choice remains "Golden."

Huang said "Golden" is more than simply a good song. In his view, it is a song of major importance to Korea because it has helped introduce Korean culture to the world and convey the passion of the younger generation. His comments positioned the track as something with cultural meaning beyond its musical appeal.

He closed his remarks with broad praise for Korean culture, saying that K-pop, K-culture, K-beauty, and even K-chicken are all the best. Through the conversation, Huang presented Korean music, food, beauty, and popular culture as areas he regards highly.
