Kim So Young and Oh Sang Jin's daughter wins top math award

Sua, the daughter of broadcasters Kim So Young and Oh Sang Jin, has showcased her "perfect daughter" qualities by winning a top mathematics award. Rather than her parents' fame, what drew more attention was how the young girl prepared diligently for the exam to achieve such great results on her own.

On the 8th, a video titled "Suho's first flip finally captured, Kim So Young and Oh Sang Jin's family's first staycation: a weekend for the family of four" was released on Kim So Young's YouTube channel. The video captures an ordinary yet special day as Kim and Oh spend the weekend with their two children.

The family headed to the L Hotel buffet that day to celebrate their eldest daughter, Sua. Having recently achieved excellent grades and received a top award in a mathematics exam, the family arranged a celebratory meal.

“Sua went to take a math exam recently. It was her first time and it was difficult, but we agreed that if she did well and won an award, we would come to the L Hotel to eat LA ribs,” Kim explained. “So we are here to celebrate Sua.”

Despite it being her first exam experience and encountering difficult problems, Sua completed the test and ultimately received the top award. For her parents, the moment held much more meaning than simply receiving a trophy.

When Kim asked her daughter, “How did you manage to win the top award?” Sua drew attention by not boasting of a secret method, but instead simply stating that she "did it diligently.”

In essence, she cited consistency as her strength rather than a glamorous track record.

As both Oh and Kim are well-known for their academic and intellectual pursuits, news of their daughter's achievement naturally garnered interest. Oh is an alumnus of Yonsei University's Department of Business Administration, and Kim is also an alumna of Yonsei University. Since both have prioritized self-development throughout their broadcasting careers, Sua's diligent attitude is particularly noteworthy.

While it is not necessary to link a child's achievement to their parents' academic backgrounds, the most impressive aspect of the video is that Sua achieved these results through her own efforts, independent of her parents' fame.

The reward the parents prepared for their daughter was not grand; it was a simple moment for the family to celebrate her achievement over a delicious meal.

In addition to the celebratory meal, the family enjoyed a "staycation" ahead of a large family summer trip scheduled for next week. Sua's award provided an extra reason for the family to enjoy their weekend.
