Park Eun Young eyes return to TV: "I would go even without pay"

Broadcaster Park Eun Young, a former KBS announcer, has expressed a strong desire to return to hosting terrestrial TV programs. After candidly admitting that "no one calls me," she went as far as to declare, "I would go even if it is without pay." Although it has been six years since she left KBS, her attachment to TV broadcasting remains unchanged.

On the 18th, Park released a video on her channel featuring Hong Hyun Hee and a fortune-telling consultant. During the session, Park expressed her strong will to return to broadcasting by asking, "Will I be able to host a TV program within this year?"

Upon hearing this, Hong joked, "Younger people want to be the main stars of channel content, so you sound like someone from the old days." However, Park remained firm. Expressing her affection for legacy media, she stated, "I still love legacy media," before adding an honest confession: "But they still don't call me. It makes me angry."

When Hong jokingly suggested, "Set your appearance fee to 50,000 won," Park responded even more strongly, saying, "I would go even without pay." This went beyond a simple desire for appearance opportunities, as she unreservedly revealed her determination to become a host for terrestrial programs.

Park has expressed this thirst for TV broadcasting several times recently. In a video released on the channel "I'm Lee Ji Yeon" on the 4th, she explained her current activities, saying, "People ask why I don't appear on TV lately, but I am doing home shopping." She added, "While I am very grateful for the home shopping work, don't we still have the desire to broadcast?"

This does not mean she is facing financial difficulties since becoming a freelancer. On the contrary, Park explained that although it may seem like she has no work, "I am earning much more than when I was receiving an announcer's salary," noting that her income from home shopping and other activities exceeds her previous salary levels. Ultimately, her goal is closer to reaffirming her identity as a TV program host rather than seeking money or a livelihood.

Park joined KBS in 2007 as part of the 33rd open recruitment for announcers and made a name for herself hosting various programs, including news and variety shows. After leaving KBS in 2020, she transitioned to being a freelance broadcaster and has since expanded her field of activity through home shopping and her personal channel. Having married in 2019 and having one son and one daughter, she continues to say "I love TV" even in her sixth year as a freelancer. Attention is focused on whether the terrestrial MC position Park is waiting for so eagerly will eventually return to her.
