Yoo Jae Suk earns praise for paying taxes during variety show filming
Entertainer Yoo Jae Suk shows his sense of responsibility by paying his taxes during the filming of the web variety show Pungyangjung.
Entertainer Yoo Jae Suk's principled approach to taxation has once again become a hot topic. After footage revealed him visiting a bank to settle his tax obligations without delay during a variety show filming, he has received widespread praise for demonstrating a sense of responsibility as a public figure.

The first episode of the web variety show "Pungyangjung," released on the YouTube channel "DdeunDdeun" on the 1st, follows Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Sung Min, Ji Suk-jin, and Yang Se-chan on a domestic trip.
Before the trip began, Yoo revealed an unexpected item on his schedule: a brief stop at the bank to pay his taxes.
Although it was the period for paying global income tax, Yoo's busy schedule had made it difficult to find time. He eventually decided to utilize a break during filming to settle the payment.
When Ji Suk-jin asked, “Why are you paying taxes now?” Yoo explained, “The deadline is June 30, but I couldn't do it because of recordings.”
He then asked for the others' understanding, saying, “While you seniors are withdrawing money, I'll go pay my taxes. I haven't been able to do it because of continuous recordings.”
When Ji Suk-jin suggested, “Can't you just do it later?” Yoo replied firmly.
“There is no 'doing it later.' Taxes must be paid on time.”
Though brief, the remark clearly reflected the sense of responsibility and principle-oriented nature that Yoo has always emphasized.
Yoo proceeded to the bank to complete the transaction. Watching this, Yang Se-chan burst into laughter, saying, “I think this is the first time I've seen Yoo Jae Suk going to pay taxes on a broadcast,” while the rest of the cast expressed surprise at his dedication to settling his taxes mid-filming.
Even amidst the playful atmosphere, Yoo repeatedly emphasized, “Paying taxes is truly important.”
Following the broadcast, an unexpected comment appeared: the National Tax Service left a message directly on the video.
The National Tax Service highlighted the importance of sincere tax compliance, leaving a message that read, “Jae Suk-nim, thank you for your sincere tax payment. We hope to see you again next year with sincere tax payment.”
The bank employee who assisted Yoo also added to the heartwarming moment, commenting, “I am the bank employee you paid taxes to. It is an honor to meet a sincere taxpayer.”
Yoo's exemplary tax-paying behavior is not a new phenomenon. Although he has undergone intensive tax audits in the past, no evidence of tax evasion, such as reporting errors or intentional income omission, was ever found, allowing him to build a long-standing reputation as a trustworthy and sincere taxpayer.
This scene became a sensation not because of a grand message, but because of the attitude revealed through a small, everyday choice. His refusal to delay necessary duties despite a hectic filming schedule serves as a reminder of why Yoo Jae Suk has remained a beloved figure to the public for so long.
