Yoo Se Yoon 'confesses' to cookie theft, echoing past drunk driving incident

Comedian and singer Yoo Se Yoon has once again brought laughter through a "confession." Having previously garnered attention for personally visiting a police station following a drunk driving incident, he this time showcased his characteristic witty banter by confessing to secretly eating a cookie.

On the 6th, Yoo released a message of support via SNS for the 'Dream Festival,' an event organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts and Culture Education Service.

The 'Dream Festival' is a cultural arts education event held at Alpensia in Pyeongchang, Gangwon Province, and the Miryang Arirang Art Center in Gyeongnam; Yoo appears to have visited the site on the first day.

However, a single remark left alongside his supportive message elicited unexpected laughter.

"I am so embarrassed because I got caught stealing a cookie. I'm sorry," Yoo stated, adding, "But I didn't eat 3, I only ate exactly 1. Even though the sentence will probably be the same."

While it was a witty way to describe a small mishap at the event rather than an actual crime, the use of the word "confession" combined with Yoo's unique self-deprecating humor provided laughter to his fans.

This is not the first time Yoo has engaged in "confession gag."

He also stood before the public in an extraordinary manner during his drunk driving incident in 2013. At that time, Yoo was not caught in the act; instead, he personally went to the police station to report his wrongdoing and surrender.

He was subsequently booked without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act and took time for self-reflection, stepping down from all programs he was appearing in.

While the incident led to significant social controversy at the time, Yoo showed a willingness to admit his mistakes and take responsibility. Later that August, he resumed his broadcasting activities through tvN's 'SNL Korea.'

Following his return, he once again brought laughter on an entertainment program by mentioning the situation, saying, "I thought the fine would be around 3 million won, but when I looked at the bill, it said 2 million won. I think I got a discount because I confessed."

This recent cookie incident was also a typical Yoo approach—rather than hiding a mistake, he brought it up himself and turned it into laughter. However, as the word "confession" carries weight, much like his past drunk driving incident, the public finds themselves recalling those past memories even within his jokes.

Beyond being a comedian, Yoo is loved for his unique sense of humor and honest character through various activities, including UV and appearances in various variety shows.
