Yu Kkaetnip, Divorced from Choi Gogi, Says She Split from Ex-Boyfriend Who "Wouldn't Accept My Child"

YouTuber Yu Kkaetnip, who became known to viewers through her appearance on the TV Chosun entertainment program "X's Private Life," spoke about a former boyfriend through her account on June 19.

The remarks came after a fan shared a personal concern with her. The fan explained that, after getting divorced, they were currently dating someone new. The person they were seeing was entering a first marriage, but felt uncomfortable about the fan's visitation and contact with their child.

Yu Kkaetnip answered by referring to a similar experience of her own, while making clear that she was not talking about her current boyfriend. "It was not exactly visitation, but there was a case where someone felt uncomfortable about me meeting my child," she said. "It is not my current boyfriend."

She went on to describe the emotional conflict she felt at the time. Yu Kkaetnip said she could understand that she herself was divorced, but found it difficult to accept that her child was treated as the part of her life that made the other person uneasy. She said she wondered whether she was forcing only that person to be understanding, but also thought, "How does it make sense that someone who said he would marry me would not accept my child?"

Yu Kkaetnip added that the relationship ultimately ended. "The conclusion was that I broke up with that person," she said.

Yu Kkaetnip married Choi Gogi in 2016 and divorced in 2020. The two also appeared together on TV Chosun's "We Got Divorced." More recently, both of them revealed their respective partners on "X's Private Life."
