“Hey, Kim Go-eun!” Lee Sang-yi’s hilarious reaction shows best friend chemistry

Actors Kim Go-eun and Lee Sang-yi provided viewers with another layer of entertainment by revealing their unchanging friendship at the Blue Dragon Series Awards. Even on an awards stage defined by fierce competition, the two drew attention with the comfortable vibe and playful reactions unique to longtime classmates.

At the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards held on July 31 at Paradise City in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, not only the actors' winning moments but also the reactions of stars captured from the audience became a hot topic.

Lee Sang-yi attended the ceremony as a nominee for Best Supporting Actor for his special appearance in the TVING series "The Legend of Kitchen Soldier." Having previously garnered attention by performing on Mnet's "M Countdown" alongside the members of the fictional boy group 'Migak Boys' from the series, he once again displayed a special presence at the awards ceremony.

As Migak Boys performed "My flavor" in military uniforms, Lee Sang-yi, watching from the audience, suddenly stood up and embraced the moment, exclaiming, "What on earth is happening right now? To think I've come to the Blue Dragon stage as a special guest!"

He then shouted, "Since it's come to this, I'll do my best until the end. Thank you!" before joining the stage in a tuxedo to perform an impromptu dance.

However, Kim Go-eun's reaction to the scene provided another burst of laughter. Watching her close friend's excessive "business passion," Kim observed Lee with her signature expressionless face, drawing laughs with a reaction that seemed to say, "Here he goes again."

The friendship between the two was further confirmed at the moment Kim was announced as the Grand Prize winner.

When Kim's name was called for the Grand Prize in recognition of her performances in works such as "You and Everything Else," "The Price of Confession," and "Yumi's Cells 3," Lee, who was toward the back of the audience, was captured on camera shouting, "Hey, Kim Go-eun!" with a surprised expression.

It was not a rehearsed congratulatory remark, but a natural reaction that only a long-time friend witnessing a peer's success firsthand could show.

Kim and Lee are classmates from the class of 2010 at the Korea National University of Arts, along with actors Kim Sung-cheol and Ahn Eun-jin. Although they have grown while walking their own paths as actors, the relationship they have shared since their school days remains unchanged.

In the past, while appearing on the YouTube content "Just an Excuse," Kim described Lee by saying, "He's not someone who does comedy; he's just a funny person." She added, "When someone does comedy, there's a pressure to laugh, but Lee is just naturally funny, so there's no pressure when meeting him. Sometimes he's funny just by breathing."

Lee has also revealed his special bond with Kim. It was previously noted that his special appearance in the film "Love in the Big City" was decided following a single phone call from Kim, highlighting the deep trust between the two.

For actors, an awards ceremony is often a place of competition, but the sight of Kim and Lee that day demonstrated the value of a relationship that predates such accolades. Beyond the roles of winner and nominee, they are colleagues and friends who support each other's moments more sincerely than anyone else.
