Rhee Min-jung and Kim Ji-seok star in new divorce drama
Rhee Min-jung and Kim Ji-seok showcase intense chemistry at the first script reading for the upcoming K-drama 'Yes, Let's Get a Divorce'.
Actors Rhee Min-jung and Kim Ji-seok have signaled the start of a new romantic drama with their realistic portrayal of a married couple. From the very first script reading, the intense line "Let's get a divorce" appeared, raising expectations for the project.

KBS Drama has released footage from the script reading of 'Yes, Let's Get a Divorce', which is set to premiere on August 19.
'Yes, Let's Get a Divorce' tells the story of a couple running a wedding dress shop who decide to divorce to put an end to their exhausted marriage. Rather than being a simple story about divorce, the drama aims to realistically capture the process of why two people who once loved each other ended up turning their backs on one another.
The released script reading footage shows director Joo Seong-woo and writer Hwang Ji-eon joined by main cast members including Rhee Min-jung, Kim Ji-seok, Lee Hyun-jin, Lee Jin, Jeong Ui-je, and Wang Bit-na, as they shared their first chemistry together.
In the drama, Rhee plays Baek Mi-young, the CEO of the wedding dress shop 'Ji & White'. She is a character who is a perfect career woman at work but faces cracks in her marriage.
In particular, Baek Mi-young's line "Let's get a divorce" drew significant attention during the reading. Though short, the intense remark piqued curiosity regarding the long-accumulated conflicts and hidden stories of the couple.
Rhee expressed her anticipation for the project, saying, "It is expected to be a fun drama that many can empathize with, laugh at, and cry to. Please give us a lot of interest."
Kim plays Ji Won-ho, Baek Mi-young's husband and the co-CEO of the wedding dress shop. Based on his signature cheerful and sly acting style, he completes a character that oscillates between a confident designer and a husband in crisis.
Kim stated, "I hope viewers focus on the process of why this couple decided to divorce and what happened between them."
He then wittily expressed his satisfaction with the project during his thoughts on the script reading, saying, "It feels like I've come to a famous restaurant I've only heard about in rumors. I feel like now I just need to eat delicious food."
Lee Hyun-jin, who plays Calvin, Rhee's ex-boyfriend in the drama, adds tension to the story by simultaneously showing cold charisma and a warm side.
Lee Jin breathes life into the drama by showcasing the honest and bold charm of An Hee-ju, an MZ generation photographer. Additionally, Jeong Ui-je and Wang Bit-na will join with characters of strong personality to enrich the story.
Showing stable chemistry and high immersion from the first reading, 'Yes, Let's Get a Divorce' is expected to be a work that re-examines the meaning of love and relationships through the heavy subject of divorce.
'Yes, Let's Get a Divorce' will premiere on August 19 at 11 PM on the KBS Drama channel. The news of Rhee and Kim's casting was previously revealed last November, and Kim also drew attention by releasing behind-the-scenes photos of him and Rhee together, with her in a wedding dress and him in a tuxedo.
