As the KBS 2TV mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonri-ri' enters its latter half, it begins to delve deeply into the hidden past surrounding the village of Yeonri-ri and the food company 'Matstory.' Amid the tangled relationships of the characters, tension is intensifying as suspicion and trust intersect.

Airing every Thursday night, 'Simu-myeon Yeonri-ri' follows the story of Seong Tae-hoon (played by Park Sung-woong), a demoted food company manager who moves to the rural village of Yeonri-ri with his family. In this seemingly peaceful farming village, scars from past encounters with 'Matstory' remain, and Seong Tae-hoon, too, faces unexpected truths.

Yeonri-ri village head Lim Ju-hyeong (played by Lee Seo-hwan) was wary of Seong Tae-hoon from the very beginning. This was because the villagers had suffered significant damage due to 'Matstory' in the past. Amidst the residents' distrust, Seong Tae-hoon and Lim Ju-hyeong clashed at every turn, and their confrontation became a core axis driving the drama's tension.

However, as time passed, Seong Tae-hoon's perspective began to change. As he grew closer to the residents, his doubts about the company he belongs to grew, and in particular, the suspicious movements of his superior, Director Choi (played by Min Seong-uk), began to catch his eye. Following circumstances that suggested an intentional attempt to sabotage the cabbage harvest, the atmosphere fell further into mystery as the identity of the field manager, Noh Hyeon-gap (played by Jeong Seon-cheol), was revealed.

The fact that Noh Hyeon-gap, who had always been lingering around, was actually a former employee of the Yeonri-ri branch, dealt Seong Tae-hoon a significant shock. Furthermore, the scene where Director Choi pressures Noh Hyeon-gap by mentioning past events has fueled curiosity regarding the reality of the incidents that occurred in Yeonri-ri long ago.

Noh Hyeon-gap's existence is also emerging as a key variable in the drama. Despite not being a 'Matstory' employee currently, he is creating a subtle tension by offering meaningful advice to Seong Tae-hoon. His actions, making it difficult to judge whose side he is on, are stimulating the viewers' investigative instincts.

Director Choi's movements are also unusual. He personally visited Yeonri-ri, left a comment saying, "A new picture will be drawn," and then hurriedly left the scene with his face covered in front of the residents. This is a point where suspicions are growing that another plan, rather than simple business expansion, might be hidden.

In the midst of this, Seong Tae-hoon accepts an offer from Executive Director Bae (played by Bae Ki-beom) on the condition of returning to the headquarters and receiving a promotion. It was a practical choice for his family, but it remains unknown what changes that decision will bring to Yeonri-ri. Subsequently, he reached out to the residents by providing fertilizer for free under his own name, and the residents, while maintaining their wariness of 'Matstory,' accepted it based on their trust in Seong Tae-hoon personally.

As the wounds of the past and current interests begin to intertwine once again, attention is focused on where Seong Tae-hoon's choices will lead Yeonri-ri.

Meanwhile, episode 9 of the KBS 2TV mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonri-ri' will air on the 21st at 9:50 PM.

As the pieces of the hidden truth are revealed one by one, the atmosphere in Yeonri-ri is becoming even more taut.
