Sechs Kies' Ko Ji-yong reveals divorce from Heo Yang-im

Following the announcement from former Sechs Kies member Ko Ji-yong that he divorced family medicine specialist Heo Yang-im two years ago, attention has turned to recent updates shared by Heo regarding her daily life.

On the 29th, Ko officially announced the news via SNS, stating, "I divorced my wife two years ago." He explained, "The reason I did not disclose this until now was that I wanted to protect my son, Seung-jae, so he could fully accept the situation and grow up stably." He added, "Seung-jae understands the new relationship between his mother and father and is doing well now."

With this news breaking, interest is also shifting toward poignant expressions in posts Heo recently shared on SNS.

On the 19th, Heo shared updates on Seung-jae's recent life on Instagram with the caption, "Summer news from the New Zealand ski camp."

In the photos, Seung-jae appeared to be thriving during overseas ski training. What particularly caught the eye was a handwritten letter the boy sent to his mother.

In the letter, Seung-jae wrote, "I am doing well in New Zealand. Don't worry because I am listening well to the coach." He expressed his deep affection for his mother by adding, "Mom, make sure to eat well on your own, and don't overwork yourself at the hospital."

In response, Heo expressed her tender feelings, saying, "A son who says he is training well on his own, yet starts by worrying about his mom's meals," and "My heart is touched by his words thanking me for sending him to camp."

She added, "Sleep well and come back. Mom will also be right here, holding our place for the two of us," showing her affection for her current life with her son.

While the post appeared to be a simple glimpse into the daily life of a mother and son when it was first released, following Ko's divorce announcement, some interpretations suggest that Seung-jae's remark, "Make sure to eat well on your own," may have hinted at the changed family dynamic between the two.

However, Ko emphasized that the divorce was a mutual decision made for their well-being rather than a result of conflict. He stated, "Although we have parted ways as a married couple, we are doing well while supporting each other," and "I will continue to do my best as a father."

Heo, born in 1980, is a family medicine specialist who has gained public recognition through various KBS programs, including 'Morning Forum', 'Mysteries of the Human Body', 'Vitamin', 'Escaping Crisis No. 1', and 'Yeoyumanman'.

Ko and Heo married in 2013 and welcomed their son, Seung-jae, the following year. They were widely loved for sharing their family life on the KBS2 variety program 'The Return of Superman'.

Although the two are now walking separate paths after approximately 10 years of marriage, they are expected to maintain their relationship and responsibilities as parents centered around Seung-jae.
