Son Dam Bi hits back at criticism over shoes on hotel bed

Singer Son Dam Bi has expressed her frustration by directly addressing the controversy surrounding "shoes on a hotel bed."

On the 27th, Son responded head-on to the backlash via her SNS, posting a screenshot of a related article with the caption, "In this hotel, you wear shoes inside, and these are even brand new shoes, so how is this considered bad manners?"

The controversy began with a photo Son shared on the 25th during her trip to Japan.

In the photo, she is seen wearing matching blue sneakers while walking outdoors and later sitting on a hotel bed. Some netizens criticized her, stating, "It is bad manners to get on a bed wearing shoes used outside."

However, a debate broke out as others argued, "She might have taken the photo in her room before heading out," "It is difficult to judge the situation based on a single photo," and "Shoe policies inside hotel rooms vary by hotel."

Ultimately, Son stepped in to clarify.

She explained that the hotel in question is designed for guests to wear shoes inside the rooms, adding, "The shoes were also brand new." She expressed her frustration, adding, "Has everyone never been to a hotel? I'll just laugh it off."

This is not the first time Son has directly responded to online controversy.

Previously, after posting a photo of herself playing with bubbles with her daughter at their accommodation, she faced criticism for "messing up the common area." At that time, she apologized, stating, "We cleaned everything up thoroughly after playing," while adding, "I will be more careful in the future."

Regarding this current controversy, however, she chose to clarify her position directly, judging that speculations contrary to the facts were being spread.

Son married former national speed skater Lee Kyou Hyuk in 2022, and since giving birth to her first daughter, Haee, last year, she has been balancing childcare with her broadcasting activities.
