'Country Diaries' Lee Sang-mi, Who Said She Preferred Older Men, Goes on a Fluttering Date With a Man 8 Years Younger
Lee Sang-mi of MBC drama 'Country Diaries' continues her romance on TV CHOSUN's 'Joseon's Lovers' with Park Young-dong, a man eight years younger.
Lee Sang-mi, remembered by viewers for playing Gaettong's mother in the MBC drama 'Country Diaries,' is set to enjoy a heart-fluttering date with a man eight years younger than her on TV CHOSUN's documentary variety show 'Joseon's Lovers.' The man has drawn attention on the program for his resemblance to Hollywood actor George Clooney, whom Lee has described as her ideal type.

The follow-up date will be revealed on the June 8 broadcast of 'Joseon's Lovers.' Lee previously completed a round of arranged introductions that included comedian Oh Ji-heon's father, a former senior model, a divorced wealthy man associated with 50 billion won in sales, and the eight-years-younger man whose looks reminded her of George Clooney. The new broadcast focuses on what happens after those introductions, as Lee spends time with the younger suitor, Park Young-dong.
In a preview released ahead of the episode, Park Young-dong and Lee Sang-mi are shown sharing a romantic picnic at a park along the Han River. During the outing, Park suddenly asks her a direct question: among the two men, which one does she speak with on the phone more often?
Lee appears flustered by the unexpected question, but she answers shyly that she talks more often with Young-dong. Park responds with a smile, saying that he can interpret that in a positive way. Lee then nods her head, allowing the moment to take on an even more openly romantic tone.
Park continues by asking another straightforward question about their future. He says that, after today, he may begin approaching her little by little, and asks what she would do if she felt him coming closer.
Lee Sang-mi, who received much love for her role as Gaettong's mother in 'Country Diaries,' came to 'Joseon's Lovers' after her mother's death in order to look for the first romance of her life. She had previously set out her own dating standard by saying that she liked someone who was at least one year older than her. That is why curiosity is growing over what kind of romance Lee, who once said she preferred older men, will develop with a younger man.
