Harisu denies rumors of husband's 3 billion won business loss

Transgender celebrity Harisu has candidly shared the complex emotions she felt when deciding to divorce her former husband, Miki Jung. In particular, she firmly denied rumors claiming Miki Jung lost 3 billion won due to business failures, stating, "It is not true at all."

Appearing on Ahn Sun-young's YouTube Channel on the 7th, Harisu spoke openly about her life, covering everything from her peak stardom to her marriage, divorce, and life after gender affirmation surgery.

The most notable part of the appearance was the discussion surrounding her divorce from Miki Jung. Harisu revealed that while she was actively working as a celebrity and was in a stable financial position, she worried that her success might actually be hindering her husband's own growth.

"To be honest, I was earning well and doing very well," Harisu recalled. "My ex-husband lived as 'Harisu's man,' but about 7 to 8 months before we broke up, he started a business. Seeing him find interest and become immersed in business, I wondered if perhaps I was the one holding him back."

She added, "I thought I had to let him go."

For her, the divorce was not a decision stemming from simple marital conflict or financial issues. Rather, it was a choice to let the person she loved find his own identity and life.

"From my perspective, it didn't matter if my husband didn't earn money. I liked that he stayed home, cared for me while I worked, and was always with me," Harisu said. "But seeing him getting busier with his business, I thought that if I let him go now, he might be able to live in the world under his own name rather than as 'Harisu's man.'"

She also shared that their relationship was under intense social scrutiny at the time. In particular, Harisu revealed that she always felt a sense of guilt toward her former parents-in-law.

"My former parents-in-law allowed the marriage knowing I could not have children, but my ex-husband was an only child," she said. "That has always weighed on my heart. Perhaps they wanted to see him marry someone else and have children after we broke up."

Nevertheless, Harisu stated that she does not regret the divorce. It was not because the marriage was a failure, but because she believed supporting each other's individual paths after sharing sufficient love was the better choice.

"We didn't break up because we were bad to each other; we thought it would be better to go our separate ways while cheering each other on," Harisu said calmly. "Since I received all the love I wanted to give and all the love I wanted to receive, I have no regrets."

She also addressed the long-standing rumor that Miki Jung "lost 3 billion won." Harisu emphasized that the rumor is entirely false.

"There was a story that my ex-husband lost 3 billion won while doing business, but that is not true at all," she explained. "It seems like a joke I made while playing a game—talking about game money and saying something like, 'Just give me 100 million won'—was taken out of context."

Ultimately, the divorce Harisu describes does not signify a failure. It was a parting chosen by two people who were once the closest in each other's lives, so they could live under their own names and in their own ways.

Harisu and Miki Jung married in 2007, lived as a married couple for 10 years, and divorced by mutual agreement in 2017. Even after all this time, Harisu views their relationship as "a relationship where we cheer for each other's paths" rather than a regret.
