Jeon Jin-joo reveals removal of right kidney due to inability to use restroom in her 30s

On the 20th, comedian Bae Dong-seong and his wife, culinary researcher Jeon Jin-joo, appeared together on TV Chosun's 'Perfect Life'.

Bae Dong-seong and Jeon Jin-joo each had one previous marriage and divorce before meeting and remarrying in 2017.

Bae Dong-seong explained the process of their remarriage, saying, "When I appeared as a guest on a home shopping channel, my wife was the culinary researcher in charge. She treated people around her with a gentle attitude and left a very good impression. Later, we met on another program, and knowing she was also single, I confessed my feelings and asked to date."

The couple noted that they are particularly attentive to their health.

Jeon Jin-joo revealed that she was diagnosed with kidney cancer and fought the disease in her 30s. "Before my first marriage, I worked as a secretary, and due to the nature of the job, I couldn't go to the bathroom often. I suffered from cystitis as an occupational disease, and when I went to a large hospital for testing due to the pain, they told me it was kidney cancer. Ultimately, I had to have my right kidney removed. I realized that health is not something you can control at will," she said.

She also explained why she manages her health so strictly, adding, "Currently, I am taking medication for hyperlipidemia, and I have also had colon polyps removed. Since my mother has a family history of cancer, I am very careful about my health."

Bae Dong-seong showed his caring side as a husband, saying, "Since she is missing one kidney, fatigue builds up quickly even with a little overexertion. Her hands and feet also swell in the morning. That is why I always give her a massage when she wakes up."
