Keum Sae-rok screams during ghost story interview

Actress Keum Sae-rok has drawn significant attention by revealing a chilling real-life experience ahead of her appearance on a horror variety show.

While Keum usually maintains a bright and confident image, she was reportedly swept up in unexpected terror as past memories resurfaced while discussing ghost stories.

Keum will appear as a "Ghost Guest" on MBC's 'Midnight Horror Story' Season 6, which airs August 3.

In the released preview, Keum appeared in an atmosphere entirely different from her usual image. With an expressionless face, a sharp bob cut, and all-black styling, she resembled a protagonist from a horror movie.

Watching this, MC Kim GuRa drew laughter by noting the actress's potential for the genre, stating, "Since her limbs are so long, she would be truly terrifying if she played a ghost."

However, a behind-the-scenes episode released before the broadcast delivered intense tension rather than laughter.

According to the production team, while conducting a preliminary phone interview, Keum suddenly screamed and shouted, "Can you stop asking?"

At the time, Keum was speaking with a writer inside her car parked in an underground parking lot. While discussing ghost stories in that dark, quiet space, she said she recalled a personal experience from her past.

Keum revealed that the house she lived in previously was at the very end of a corridor-style apartment building.

She shared that one night, while walking through the corridor toward her home, something of unknown identity rushed toward her at incredible speed, leaving her so startled she almost collapsed.

Because the experience occurred in a home—an ordinary, everyday space—Keum's story delivered an even more realistic sense of horror.

What exactly was the entity that plunged Keum into terror is set to be revealed during the broadcast.

In this seventh episode of 'Midnight Horror Story' Season 6, three stories will be introduced: 'Apartment Line 3,' which deals with a mysterious entity threatening the safety of a home; 'Public Health Doctor,' a horror story unfolding on an isolated island; and 'The Woman in the Coffin,' a strange incident triggered by breaking three taboos.

Expectations are high to see how Keum, appearing with intense visuals suited for the horror genre, will react as she shares her real-life experience.
