Kim Chang-ok and Lee Young Ja praise Pak Se-ri's wise press conference

During the tvN STORY program 'Table Tales' on the 13th, comedian Lee Young Ja remarked that entertainer and former golfer Pak Se-ri was wise to hold a press conference regarding her decision to sue her father in 2024.

Communication expert Kim Chang-ok appeared on 'Table Tales' and cited Pak Se-ri's tearful 2024 press conference regarding her lawsuit against her father as the reason for his appearance. Kim aptly described the intense situation, noting that the camera flashes from reporters pouring in during the 20 seconds Pak Se-ri was unable to continue speaking were like the arrows raining down in the movie '300'.

When Pak expressed her gratitude, saying, "You felt that much sympathy for me," Kim confessed his prejudice, stating, "I always thought Pak Se-ri was a bit scary. Even though I am her older brother figure, I felt like I might get scolded if I did something wrong." Lee added to the sentiment, noting that Kim still finds Pak intimidating, saying, "She is much younger, yet he still hasn't dropped the formal speech."

Kim remarked, "Whether it is her true self or not, competing in a world-class league is like fighting a war alone against foreigners. She is like a general who has survived numerous life-and-death crises on the battlefield, yet there she was, being hit by countless arrows and unable to defend herself. I didn't search for what was happening. I didn't want to. Sometimes, saying 'who dares to comfort someone' can be violent and rude. I felt like if I offered clumsy comfort, I might get hit and told not to comfort her. No matter how much military service I have completed, Pak Se-ri's energy made me feel like instead of speaking clumsily, I should just look her in the face and have a meal with her."

Pak expressed her gratitude to Kim, saying, "Thank you. I feel like you understood my emotions in that moment. While I was trying to compose my emotions, the flashes were coming. My emotions and thoughts were separate from that. In fact, aside from the flashes, it wasn't even easy just to sit there. It was my most difficult moment, but I think you perceived it that way."

Lee acknowledged the wisdom of Pak's press conference and its timing, stating, "It must have been very difficult. I am a senior when it comes to press conferences. I thought it was wise to end it at this point. Even if I drag things out, it doesn't solve anything. Seeing her end the cycle quickly, I thought it was wise."
