Kim Dae-ho and Kyung Soo Jin reveal close bond over soju and pork belly
Broadcaster Kim Dae-ho and actress Kyung Soo Jin reveal their close friendship and past romantic interest during MBC's 'Where Is My Home'.
Broadcaster Kim Dae-ho and actress Kyung Soo Jin revealed that after forming a connection through television, they have met privately for drinks. Kim drew attention by honestly admitting he felt romantic interest in Kyung during their first meeting, but drew a line by stating, "Now we are just comfortable older brother and younger sister."
In the MBC variety show 'Where Is My Home' broadcast on the 9th, Yang Se-hyung, Kim Dae-ho, and Kyung Soo Jin visited Yeongwol, Gangwon Province, to look around second homes in nature. While examining various properties, the three shared natural banter based on their actual friendship, bringing laughter to viewers.

During the episode, Kim confidently introduced Kyung, saying, "We are personally close," which piqued the curiosity of the cast.
As puzzled reactions followed his unexpected remark, Kyung explained, "We worked on many programs together," adding, "We naturally became close, and we have even met outside of broadcasting."
She further revealed that their friendship goes beyond mere colleagues, stating, "There was a time when we had a glass of soju at a pork belly restaurant."
However, the two were not alone at the drinking session. Kyung added, "At that time, the three of us met with comedian Lim Woo Il," prompting disappointed reactions from the cast members who said, "We thought it was just the two of you," creating a humorous moment.
In response, Kim made a witty joke, saying, "But that hyung (Lim Woo Il) isn't necessary," filling the studio with laughter.
As the atmosphere warmed up, Yang Se-hyung asked a direct question, recalling their first meeting: "Didn't Dae-ho hyung like Soo Jin a little bit at first?"
After laughing briefly, Kim honestly admitted, "Isn't it natural to feel romantic interest when you see someone for the first time?"
He then emphasized, "But that was a long time ago," explaining their current relationship: "She has such an easygoing personality and loves fishing so much that we just get along like a comfortable older brother and younger sister."
Kyung also showed natural empathy, smiling at Kim's words.
Kim, born in 1984, and Kyung, born in 1987, are three years apart and are known to have built a friendship while working together on various variety shows.
The broadcast also featured stories about Kyung's home and hobbies.
Recalling when she was looking for a house in the past, Kyung said, "While watching 'Where Is My Home,' I saw a property being introduced and thought, 'I feel like I would live really well if I moved into that house.'"
She revealed a special story of how her connection to the show led to reality, saying, "Eventually, as time passed, I ended up signing a contract for a house across from it with the same layout."
However, she added that she has since moved and is living in a different house.
Her hobbies also drew interest. Kyung, well known for enjoying fishing and camping, revealed, "Two years ago, I set up a hideout for my hobbies in Bo-ryeong, Chungnam."
Hearing this, Kim naturally mentioned, "I've been there," once again demonstrating their special closeness, which Kyung acknowledged with a nod.
Throughout the broadcast, the two showed the trust and friendship built over a long time through natural chemistry and comfortable conversation. In particular, Kim's honest admission of his past interest, followed by his clarification that she is now "the most comfortable younger sister figure," brought both laughter and warmth to viewers.
Kim recently appeared on another variety program where he spoke candidly about his views on dating, confessing, "To be honest, I look at looks a lot during a first impression." At the time, he drew attention by mentioning actress Go Youn Jung as his ideal type, gaining sympathy from viewers with his characteristically unadorned way of speaking.
