Kim Dae-ho on Feeling 'Stung' by Comments and Interviewing at Other Networks After Going Freelance
Kim Dae-ho opens up on Radio Star about the emotional toll of online comments and his recent interviews at other broadcasting stations after leaving MBC.
On the 24th, MBC's 'Radio Star' featured a special episode themed 'We Are All Trying Here to Fight for Our Convictions,' with guests Lee Ji-young, Kim Dae-ho, Kyung Soo Jin, and Kim Min-kyung.

Kim Dae-ho revealed that he appeared on 'Radio Star' because he felt he needed a breakthrough as his current situation is not easy. He shared that while he initially felt indifferent toward comments comparing him to Kian84, the constant repetition eventually left him feeling emotionally wounded.
Regarding the reactions following his declaration of becoming a freelancer, Kim Dae-ho explained that he thought the response would be like a rising tide, but it quickly subsided. He confessed that he feels 'stung' by evaluations claiming that his time as an announcer was better. He admitted that whenever he hears such things, his heart weakens, given that he cannot turn back time. However, he firmly stated that he has never regretted his decision to go freelance.
He also shared a story about undergoing 'another interview' to serve as an MC for a different broadcasting station rather than MBC. He confessed that before being selected as the MC for the trot audition program 'Mumeong Jeonseol,' he met with the production team to discuss his hosting abilities.
He revealed that during the interview, he appealed to them by saying that while he might not be able to become Kim Seong-ju or Jun Hyun-moo, as someone from an audition program background, he could better empathize and channel the desperate emotions of the participants into his hosting. He also mentioned that his chemistry with Jang Min-ho helped him adapt well to the program.
He joined MBC as an announcer in 2011 and left the company in 2025. He is currently active as a freelancer under an exclusive contract with ONE HUNDRED. ONE HUNDRED is an entertainment agency founded by Chairman Cha Ga Won, who has been making headlines recently.
