Kim Min Ha on her freckles: 'I have never found them distracting'

Actress Kim Min Ha has spoken candidly about the public interest surrounding the freckles on her face. While some might view them as a flaw to be hidden, she revealed that she has never once considered them a problem.

Appearing on the MBN and Channel S variety program 'No Plans At All' on the 7th, Kim shared stories about her appearance while searching for famous restaurants in Incheon alongside Jun Hyun-moo and KwakTube.

During the episode, Jun mentioned that 'freckles' frequently appears as a related search term for 'Kim Min Ha.'

"'Freckles' pops up in the related search terms for 'Kim Min Ha.' It is so charming," Jun said, adding, "At first, I thought you did it on purpose."

Kim's reaction was unexpectedly composed.

She revealed that she has never viewed her freckles as an issue, even during her childhood. Her short response, "Even when I was young, it never particularly bothered me," reflected her long-standing habit of accepting her face exactly as it is.

When Jun asked, "When you were more sensitive, didn't you honestly want clear skin?" Kim firmly shook her head.

"I have never once thought about this," she replied.

In fact, it was only after she began her career as an actress that Kim became aware that her freckles were being recognized as a distinct characteristic.

"I only realized it was unique after I started this job. Because I heard those comments so much at first, I wondered, 'Why is this a problem?'" she confessed.

She only realized later that what was a natural part of her face to her could serve as a defining feature that helps the public remember her.

Jun repeatedly emphasized, "It's actually a charm point," and Kim continued the conversation naturally, showing no desire to forcibly erase her natural features.

In particular, when Jun noted, "It's a relief you didn't remove them. You can always cover them depending on the role," Kim readily agreed.

For an actor, appearance is often a crucial element in completing a character. In an era where perfectly homogenized skin and standardized beauty are often prioritized, Kim's freckles serve as a unique mark that makes her face memorable.
