Lim Sung-min Reveals Manager Disappeared with Her Bank Account During Freelance Period
Former announcer Lim Sung-min shares her harrowing struggles with financial betrayal and sudden career shifts on the YouTube channel Zzanbro.
On the 22nd, former announcer turned actress Lim Sung-min appeared on the YouTube channel 'Zzanbro Shin Dong Yup' and shared the difficult situations she faced after transitioning to freelance work.

Recalling when she declared herself a freelancer in 2001, Lim Sung-min said, "I am the original freelancer. When no other announcers were stepping forward as freelancers, I was the only one to declare it."
She noted that while her activities increased rapidly after becoming independent, her agency at the time lacked experience in managing the activities of broadcasters who were former announcers, resulting in a lack of systematic support.
Mentioning that she balanced variety shows and dramas back then, she said, "In those days, it wasn't an era where you could do many different things at the same time like now. However, I did both variety shows and dramas. I quit being an announcer because I wanted to act and have diverse activities, but to act, I had to let go of all my programs."
She expressed the shock of that time, saying, "I was doing 'Challenge Earth Exploration Team' at the time, and the PD contacted me to ask, 'Why are you quitting?' It turned out the manager had notified them of my departure. I suddenly had to let go of the program. Overcoming that was truly difficult."
After a hiatus of about one year, she moved to a new agency through an acquaintance's introduction, but she revealed that she faced another ordeal.
She confessed the bleak situation at the time, saying, "In the past, managers held my bank account. My appearance fees were deposited into that account, but the manager took it and disappeared. Because the CEO ran away with tens of billions of won, the managers said they had to survive too, so they took my bank account with them."
She sighed, adding, "I didn't even have enough money to pay my national pension."
